I'm conflicted about this. I remember that mugshots are public records. My wife had an ex that was in jail and she was able to show girls his mugshot to prevent other girls to fall for this charming sociopath.
26% arrested or detained are let go without charges or innocent and released. They ALL have their mugshots taken. They all end up on sites like this and they all are extorted. Furthermore, there are degrees of criminality. My adorable and sweet as hell sister was arrested for a dolphin protest. Peaceful save trespassing. Her probation for her one and only crime should be justice enough. Not having prisoners find her on social media from her mugshot and sending her hella creepy messages. She shouldn’t be turned down for work because she was an idealist 19yo. Hardly the hardcore criminal yet you’d have her clumped in with DUIs, fraudsters & the pedophiles & murders. It’s important we don’t see digression as black & white. Also, when sentences are served, most debt to society is repaid. That’s what makes us a civilized nation. Mugshots treats all those detained, innocent included, along with all the measly transgressions as equally contemptuous.

And yet that website is still up and operating! Here is the sick irony of US law one would think would be unconstitutional. When arrested, their booking photo and the details become a public record. If charges are later dropped for any reason or even if not dropped but found not guilty in court, guess what? That arrest record still remains public. It is up to the person to engage a lawyer to have the record sealed and/or expunged. Expunged isn't fully expunged though. The details may be gone but on a level 2 and higher background check for employment and other situations, it will still be revealed that there was an arrest. Certain states require you to disclose sealed and expunged records when applying for certain occupational licenses. If you don't that's a felony offense! Once that background check is done and you comply, guess what? It's now an unsealed public record again.
Putting peoples' mugshots online is totally legal and done by the police in my state. You can access anyone's criminal history with minimal effort. Only difference is you can't pay or do anything else to take them down, so they're basically just ruining your life and career for fun

He was convicted for raping an unconscious girl. Mugshots are taken during processing. As in, before proven guilty. There are plenty of people detained (processed) and never formally arrested because they’ve committed no crime. As a matter of fact, according US-DOJ statistics for 2018 (the most recent), 26% of all detainees are innocent and let go. That’s over 1/4. Brock Turner was a literal rapist convicted & sentenced. Consider yourself educated on differentiating “convict” with “suspect.” And for the record, most all the mugshots on this site were used for extortion whereas Turner’s is social justice for a failed judgement. All because he was a rich, white, daddy’s boy. Sound familiar???

Karma hates me. I do something bad, get something bad. Whatever, thats normal, but then I do something good and get something bad! Like one time I returned someone's (really well done) project cause they had lost it outside somewhere and the rest of the day I wanted to go home and cry cause everyone decided I was undeserving of happiness. Then another time, helping a random stranger find a quarter they were looking for cause they were paying for something and dropped it. Nope, looks like I'm gonna have another shitty day
What do you mean by 'everyone decided you were undeserving of happiness'? Did your partner leave/cheat on you? Fake friends throw you under the bus?

I've seen karma in my classroom at least twice with students who are somewhat unkind to their classmates, and in a pinch, when the mean students need something (paper, writing utensil, book) nobody will help out.
A local gay club was getting hate mail over prise this year for some events. They posted on Facebook that for every angry email they would donate an additional 50-100 bucks to the pride festival. They ended up dropping a ton of money before people finally got the memo and stopped.
I had to wear leather gloves every day as part of my required PPE while working in a chemical plant. The spare gloves were stored in the upstairs warehouse shelves. My work table was next to the rear shop door. Everybody used the shop as a hallway rather than going around. If I left my gloves out, day or night, I would come back and find them missing. Yep, somebody grabbed them rather than be burdened by the tortuous, excruciating, strength-robbing task of climbing one set of stairs. Ohh, the poor dears! The joke was continually on the thieves since I have a lot of palmer warts.
In the 90's, I came out to the pickup truck after lunch, only to find a nice gentleman waiting for me. He had seen a car hitting the truck while getting out of his parking spot, and the gentleman had taken the licence platw number for me. That was nice and totally unecessary. The offenders bumper, including license plate was on the ground next to the truck. What about the truck? It had a scuff mark on the side of a front tire. Who ever owned the Saab the bumper belonged to never got in touch, so after a couple of days rattelin on thw bed, I threw it away.
What's going on with the huge number of likes? I checked this and another post that came in the email notification and we're seeing over 1000 likes. I haven't been on BP for a few weeks, but have looked at a huge number of BP posts the past few years and it's rare to get more than say 400 likes. Is it bots or what?
