While I dont condone candy related tantrums, I hope OP dont plan to get kids if their first response to a tantrum is to slap the s**t out of the kid. Abuse is abuse regardsless of behaviour. Here all slapping is illegal and would get you arrested in the store. There are better ways to teach kids.
When a kid, who should be looking up to their parents as the ultimate authoritarian, the most meaningful people in their little world, call their parents an explicit, derogatory term like it's the most normal, natural thing, you gotta know that kid has not had any discipline. If anything the parents should be slapped.

I had American chocolate the company I used to work for imported to their employees as a Christmas gift, instead of Christmas bonuses. It came as a tiered box of different chocolates and candies. None of the chocolate was good. Even the milk chocolate tasted bitter and old. Now I can see what people are meaning about USA chocolate.

This is also false as they would have Seen him try to grab every chocolate bar in the AISLE and than pay for them, you dont request to buy them at the counter and than back track to the line where they are all kept.

Mom could be an abused wife who is called a b***h by husband. We don't know what is going on behind the scenes but something is. You don't need to slap a kid to discipline them. But I did like the kid not getting his way.
I hope the kid didn't have a mental disability like autism. My autistic son used to say a$$h@/e all the time in stores... and it wasn't about the candy bar (although that is what it seemed like.) It was about waiting in line. No matter what he said - if he waited in line the reward was the proverbial candy bar. Maybe next time it might be better to 1)not let a child's words bother you as an adult, and 2) not interfere in someone else's parenting unless they were doing something like... I don't know... slapping their child. You never know the story behind the behavior.

Reminds me of the time my bf and I were returning from Europe. He had been drinking before the flight and he would turn kind of mean when inebriated so when the little bottles of wine came around I drank them all before he could get at them... you should have seen the dirty look I got! I have never been a drinker and I did feel a little "lit" but it felt good to do it!
This is something I do quite often. I think the little one and the parent should not be allowed in that particular store ever again.

Karma hates me. I do something bad, get something bad. Whatever, thats normal, but then I do something good and get something bad! Like one time I returned someone's (really well done) project cause they had lost it outside somewhere and the rest of the day I wanted to go home and cry cause everyone decided I was undeserving of happiness. Then another time, helping a random stranger find a quarter they were looking for cause they were paying for something and dropped it. Nope, looks like I'm gonna have another shitty day
What do you mean by 'everyone decided you were undeserving of happiness'? Did your partner leave/cheat on you? Fake friends throw you under the bus?

I've seen karma in my classroom at least twice with students who are somewhat unkind to their classmates, and in a pinch, when the mean students need something (paper, writing utensil, book) nobody will help out.
A local gay club was getting hate mail over prise this year for some events. They posted on Facebook that for every angry email they would donate an additional 50-100 bucks to the pride festival. They ended up dropping a ton of money before people finally got the memo and stopped.
I had to wear leather gloves every day as part of my required PPE while working in a chemical plant. The spare gloves were stored in the upstairs warehouse shelves. My work table was next to the rear shop door. Everybody used the shop as a hallway rather than going around. If I left my gloves out, day or night, I would come back and find them missing. Yep, somebody grabbed them rather than be burdened by the tortuous, excruciating, strength-robbing task of climbing one set of stairs. Ohh, the poor dears! The joke was continually on the thieves since I have a lot of palmer warts.
In the 90's, I came out to the pickup truck after lunch, only to find a nice gentleman waiting for me. He had seen a car hitting the truck while getting out of his parking spot, and the gentleman had taken the licence platw number for me. That was nice and totally unecessary. The offenders bumper, including license plate was on the ground next to the truck. What about the truck? It had a scuff mark on the side of a front tire. Who ever owned the Saab the bumper belonged to never got in touch, so after a couple of days rattelin on thw bed, I threw it away.
What's going on with the huge number of likes? I checked this and another post that came in the email notification and we're seeing over 1000 likes. I haven't been on BP for a few weeks, but have looked at a huge number of BP posts the past few years and it's rare to get more than say 400 likes. Is it bots or what?
