50 Of The Best Johnny Depp Vs. Amber Heard Trial Memes That Give An Alternate Perspective On What’s Going On
Johnny Depp, 58, is suing his ex-wife, Amber Heard, 36, for $50 million over a 2018 op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post in which she described herself as a "public figure representing domestic abuse." Even though Depp was not named in the publication, he claims it cost him lucrative acting roles.
Depp and Heard met in 2009 and were married from 2015 to 2016. Now, they are accusing each other of acts of physical violence during their relationship and have both denied the other's claims.
The trial, which started on April 11, is expected to last around 6 weeks but has already produced a fair share of memorable moments. For example, Alejandro Romero, who worked as a doorman at Depp and Heard's former apartment building, last week gave recorded testimony from inside his car in which he was seen vaping and driving at one point.
Heard's attorney called it "bizarre." and judge Penney Azcarate called the moment a 'first'. "I just got to say, I've never seen that before. I've seen a lot of things, but I've never seen that," Azcarate said.

Heard's lawyer is certainly a piece of work. In all honesty she has a good basis for her defense but her lawyers completely messed up the questioning by trying to turn it into a courtroom spectacle instead of just presenting the other tabloid pieces as evidence rationally. Oh well, made for some pretty funny questioning.
Will Smith won an award after hitting Chris Rock. I wouldn't call that cancelled.

Ok, I'm might get down voted into oblivion and banned again from BP, but I'm I the only one that thinks Chris Rock is as much to blame as Will Smith and I'm tired of him being portrayed as the victim. The man made fun of his wife multiple times throughout the years. The Academy knew all of Rocks jokes before airing. Yet Will Smith gets all the punishment. Shame on the Academy for letting this happen. Shame on Rock for bullying a women with an incurable illness.
As much to blame? If he knew the joke would hurt her, he's an a*****e, but words don't compare with actual assault.

Oh, I think she will be cancelled in the end... there is a LOT of hate against her now, plenty of people will boycott anything she does star in, so film producers aren't going to be stupid enough to hire an actress people clearly don't want to see on screen and risk losing their money. I know of people that have also attempted to Boycott the new Fantastic Beasts movie, because they kicked Depp out of the role of Grindelwald because they just believed Turd instead. :/
I will be interesting to see what happens to any part of her supposed career after all this.
to be fair, we saw Smith hit Rock in actual time. There's no room for an argument to say he didn't. We weren't there to see abuse happen between Depp and Heard, only pictures/reports of after the situation. ya know "reasonable doubt" and all that jazz.

Okay, obviously Amber Heard is a terrible person. But doesn’t Depp have a history of abuse as well? I’m not saying that Depp deserves to be abused, but I think the memes painting him as some sort of nostalgic saint are inaccurate.

False claims do so much harm to the abuse/legal system. After seeing how she's treated, abused women will start hiding their abuse like before. This is why so many abused people don't take it to court(or even report it) because regardless, lawyers and media people, rip/twist everything apart and display horrible things. True or not. I watched Amber testify today. Almost hyperventilating, such emotion on her face, such distress recounting certain incidents....all with the eyes drier than an Arab's flipflop. Not a tear in sight. Probably the only performance she'll get an Oscar for.
