Japanese Designer Finds Wife’s Old Notebook Doodles, Shares Her Detailed Drawings On Twitter
You sit in a classroom full of people and hear the professor’s voice somewhere in the background. But who would ever keep paying attention when he’s been on a rant for the past half an hour! You try to collect your thoughts at least a little bit and channel them into the doodles you’ve been drawing in your notebook. Rings a bell? If so, then you certainly know that feeling when you randomly start doodling on some piece of paper without even realizing while talking on the phone. However, our human doodles can probably never be compared to the artistry of the doodles that a Japanese graphic designer, who goes by the nickname Barusu, found in his wife’s old notebook. Just take a look!

Even though Barusu is not frequent with his posts, he sure has wholesome things to share, starting with his personal illustrations like this nengajo (Japanese New Year’s card) and other bits and pieces like his experience on the trips to local art galleries and other artwork.
He also often mentions his wife who is also an artist and even occasionally shares some bits and pieces drawn by her

He once shared a little note his wife left him before leaving for work, asking him to do the cleaning since he had a day off. The message was decorated in a very sweet manner and therefore naturally sparked an interest.

“The doodles my wife drew in her old Hobonichi Techo planner are packed together so tightly,” he said in admiration

Little did Barusu’s followers know what they’re getting themselves into. Turns out, she’s much more artistically capable than those pictures let on. Their Japanese followers were particularly excited to see her faithfulness in drawing adorable fan art for whatever movie or show she watched that day.

He said her daily planner from 2013 is mostly packed with doodles

Turns out, she’s a big fan of studio Laika, especially their shows ParaNorman and Coraline. She also drew other character from animated movies such as Wreck-It Ralph and The Illusionist.

Twitter appreciated the beautiful drawings and filled Barusu’s thread with praise for his wife’s artistic talent and skill. “Here’s something else I want to add after reading all your comments,” he replied. “This level of density in her doodles only really happened during 2013… She was too busy in the other years to draw that much. (Sorry to everyone who was expecting more…) I’ll post more if the chance presents itself!”
