They benefit from high altitude, a culture which values good runners and an unusually high percentage of their muscle mass is posture muscle (endurance) rather than twitch (strength). Funnily on the west coast of Africa (the ultimate origin of many Jamaicans) the twitch/posture ratio is reversed, which makes for very good sprinters and other sports requiring explosive power.
We are thw kalenjin tribe. And proud. Whether there is any bias racial or otherwise, we dont care. We are just thankful we have the ability to run marathon after marathon 💪

Back in the early 80’s in El Paso when I rode horses out on the huge array of irrigation ditches, I’d see UTEP Kenyan runners miles from campus. Talking and chatting like it was nothing
What's the point in segregating by race? Isn't the race the place to see who is the best and the best just happen to come from this Kenyan tribe.
I think it has to do with their training at a very high altitude around Mt. Kilimanjaro near the border with Tanzania. This has historically given them a cardiovascular edge on the competition.

But if true this means genetic differences between different ethnic groups really do exist! Someone suppress this knowledge. I'm putting my fingers in my ears when someone says it and shouting: "RACE IS JUST A CONSTRUCT!!!"
This is not racial, it's tribal. Like a clan or large family. Genetics. They are still human like everyone else.

In other words, unlike modern times where one day is 24 hours, a winter day would require fewer hours from beginning to end than a summer day. This is because a day started at dawn and ended at dusk
