Perspective changes everything. Take a particular object, put it in a specific time and place, and you see how it differs compared with an almost identical one. And since such an experiment would probably be slightly too elaborate for real life, Bored Panda has compiled this entertaining collection of the most surprising comparisons.

From comparing a chimpanzee fingertip with a human fingertip to photos of a man before and after walking across China for the whole year, these are side-by-side shots that show the weird and the wonderful side of the world we live in. So pull your chair closer, get your popcorn ready and tune in for the list that puts a spin on the good old “spot the difference” game.

After you’re done, make sure to check out our previous posts with incredible comparisons here, here, and here.

Perspective is a beautiful power to subject things to. Not only do we start seeing their beauty, as in the cases of these comparisons, it can also make us feel better. You see, while putting things in perspective, we are selecting a particular mode of seeing them, and it doesn't just feel like it, our brain actually does it.

Scientists say that changing perspective is a healthy exercise if we want to be empathetic, rational and compassionate. However, changing perspective is not merely about seeing things from the point of view of another. It's just as much about gaining perspective.

Changing one’s perspective has to do with the point of view in which you stand. By stepping outside of our usual perspectives, it can become possible to frame arguments in ways that motivate others instead of leaving them feeling rejected, for example. In a similar way, you can start seeing things not as simply black or white, good or bad, but in a more complex light. This will get us out of the loop of negativity, prejudice and other negative emotions.

I will never understand that. I use my pockets all the time (hands, phone, tissues). But that doesnt stop me from using my backpack. I dont want to be carrying also my wallet, keys, sunglasses and "who knows what s**t I have in there". I doubt that most women would stop using bags if they had pockets

Even as a skinny teen I had wide, bony hips. Getting older and putting weight on both waist and hips hasn't improved things. For me, the appeal in women's jeans lies in having pants that can go over those hips without having a huge amount of fabric to belt in at the waist.

Funny. My wife said that to me once. Showed me the difference in pockets so I’d understand. We hit the store, bought some fabric, and now I see new “big kid” pockets in to all her clothes. My mom taught me to see when I was a kid, and my wife LOVES her for it. Lol

It depends on the brand of jeans you buy. I buy women's "work" jeans. They fit me properly AND have functional pockets. "Dress" jeans have pockets I can't fit a quarter in.

It's assumed that all women carry handbags, so there's no need for deep pockets. Now I see more men carrying satchels, or "manbags," and women with either clutches or phone cases that will hold credit cards. Time for the jeans-makers to catch up.

I've always carried a purse, and this was BEFORE they got creative with limiting women's pocket size. C'mon, really? In an age where cell phones are twice the size of these pockets? Must've been designed by a man --who should be sentenced to wear pants with mini frickin' pockets --forever. To those women who say they like the smaller pockets, I have an easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy solution: don't put stuff in them if you are worried about how they look. And let the rest of us use them the way we want to. Men don't get told they need a smaller pocket to have it lay more smoothly. OK. Don't get me started.....

This was explained to me by a clothing collector. She said that men's pockets were deeper because they carried most of their "possessions" keys, money, billfolds, etc., in their pockets. Women's pockets were consider "decorative" and were generally used for handkerchiefs and things that women needed to get to "quickly" without going through their purse. Evidently, the idea that women would quit carrying purses and use only pockets has not reached the manufacturers of women's clothing. Women's clothing in European and Asian countries are totally different in some respects, in others, not so much.

I assume if women's jeans are smaller, as are the pockets, their's should cost substantially less. Yes/no? With smaller pockets, the industry must assume we need less room for our money. (face slap)

Bulky and bulging pockets ruin the lines of clothing and make a woman less attractive. Most women don't care about this - most men probably don't either - but no clothing label wants the reputation of being the 'ugly' brand.

Yes please manufacturers. I think they have a deal with purse and handbag companies that ensures we have to buy a bag or purse to carry our cash and phones with us. I don't always want to carry a handbag or purse and the pockets certainly aren't deep enough to trust putting your bank card in without losing it. Come on manufacturers. Give women proper pockets.
