Everything is relative. For example, Shaq might not look tall when he's on camera next to other basketball players and Simone Biles might not seem short when you see her competing against other gymnasts but put them near each other and you'll instantly get an idea of their size.

So to broaden your understanding of the world, we at Bored Panda put together a new list of interesting comparison pictures from all sorts of different areas, including nature, technology, and social issues. It's a series we've been working on for a while too; if you like scrolling through these images, fire up our earlier publications here, here, and here. Maybe you missed some!

That is really bad care from the shelter. Not only because the dog likely has a lot of tangles in the hair that can be a problem. But also because more people would adopt their dogs if they look cleaner

For anyone considering this, do a little research before you decide where to donate. Some of the "charities" actually charge really high prices for the people who need them. My family discovered this when my sister developed alopecia universalis that 9 years old.

Well, we live in the country and have to be able to use a snowplow for ourselves and our neighbors. We needed it to be a 4X4 so we could get in and out with bad weather. We also have a Camry for day to day use. I agree that MANY Americans but big and expensive because they "can". But I do think that there are a lot of assumptions about us, which we really have brought on ourselves. Also, because the US is geographically massive, we do have different transportation requirement. Sadly, most places, unless you live in a large city, have dismal or non-existent public transportation options. And when the nearest grocery is 15 miles away, like it is for us, nad you have 18" of snow on the ground, a compact car isn't going to cut it. I do realize that most Americans buy this truck for form rather than function, but not all of us.

Right? There's two or three Dodge Rams here in my small city, and they are so ridiculous even next to the biggest Porsche Cayenne! And those are already ridiculous and useless, but the Dodge just dominates them and needs two parking-spaces since normal cars aren't that size here (Germany)

It's not just "the boys" in the US. There are a lot of women that like big trucks. My wife is one of them. I will say that we use the truck for much more than just commuting (3 different trailers, the biggest weighing in at over 15,000 lbs when loaded).

It's not fair to denigrate everyone who drives a big truck because they are necessary to haul tractors, horse trailers, etc. but it seems a high percentage of these vehicles are just status symbols for people who have no real use for them. Not many people in today's world know how much fun a car like the Spitfire can be.

I have my constructive criticism for this country. But for all the people saying crap about typical US bullshit regarding size, ego, etc...use those scales of judgement to look at yourselves. Whether you're clamoring to get in here or not, drop the scales because every while country has their shortcomings, even after these last years, people are still trying to get here.

I still don't understand the assumptions with driving large trucks. I grew up playing with monster trucks and such. Always wanted one of my own so I got one. Not overcompensating, not obese (Not fit either lol). I just like the way some look, not all by any means. There is such thing as too much. But the assumptions are ridiculous, just like many others out there for other things. What happened to not judging someone by looks or likes. Shouldn't judge someone for wearing or driving something off the rip. Just a thought.

This is not judging someone by looks but by the impact of those massive things. In Europe this cars can be a real problem. Bigger parkings lots means more space needed for parking. In old cities, those cars are to large for some streets, especially in the narrow streets of mediaval centers of old cities. Do we have to tear down old houses and buildings to make room for these kinds of cars? Should roads be adapted to the size of cars or should cars not be adapted to the roads they drive on? And yes: there are places where many people cycle every day. Those kinds of cars are a nightmare for cyclists (and pedestrians).

America is a huge country and all the immigrants that came over wanted land. A lot of our psyche is tied up in wanting space=wealth. Now that we built the infrastructure to match that it is hard to get away from it. We are too spread out to use public transportation efficiently. A lot of construction workers drive trucks because they do work on weekends as well. That said not sure why some soccer moms needs a 6,000 lb. vehicle to haul around 300 lbs of people. Am afraid its all about my safety and the hell with yours. (BTW I drive a Mazda 2.)

I came across a spitfire on a back road in England this summer and the driver took off. I was in a 2.5l 5 series and all I could do was keep up. It was much quicker than you'd think and crazy fast through the corners. Plus it was about 10 years older than me.

No not just people living in the States buy these horrible monsters. I live in Switzerland in a city where we have a great public transportation, busses, metros and trains, yet the new fad is having these. There's very little parking as the city dates back to the middle ages. These monsters are way too noisy and highly pollute. The World is walking on it's head.

Anyone know where this is? Those aren't American license plates, so the trucks are imported and judging by the looks have never seen dirt road, mud puddles, or work loads of any kind. Wherever they are it's a status symbol that says they can afford a fancy truck and the 12 mpg it gets.

A few people commented this is in Iceland, and the trucks are big and clean because they are used for glacial tours. (They need good wide tires and high clearance) Don't know if that last part is true, but that's what I read.

Trucks like this, do have a purpose. I do agree, that there are people that don't need big a** trucks, but buy them anyways bc they can afford them. It's ridiculous how many people in the U.S have big trucks but don't use them for what they were intended for (work, hauling etc.) instead just to boost their ego's. (I personally think it's a bit funny when a man in a suit and tie hops out of a truck similar to the one's in the picture but more than likely has never used it for hauling or anything else is was intended for.)

If an SUV and a compact car are in an accident, the compact car (and the people in it) suffer far more damage. In the US, people look at that and say the compact car isn't safe. In Europe, they say the SUV isn't safe. Says a lot about the difference between us.

Sometimes I feel like that in my Wrangler TJ. Until we get to the compound terrain, lol. Big trucks hang on break points like big shiny Christmas tree ornaments till another big truck pulls them off. I really love seeing the plastic chrome fly off of big trucks when they try to do any real off-road riding. They floor it and hope for the best. Horsepower won't get you everywhere, lol. I'll never get why people like vehicles that are larger than their purpose requires them to be. It's just tara you're hauling around all day ... a good portion of the fun in driving stems from the specific power overshoot, which is actual power minus power needed to maintain speed, divided by weight (effective weight/reduced weight, reduced not being decreased here, but rotary items of drivetrain calculated into equivalent mass in regard to acceleration), meaning that a car should have low drag and low weight, to, at any given power output, maximize the fun out of it. Also - straight driving almost never is fun. It's corners and bends, and there, you'll also see an advantage on small ones. Driving a castle of 2 tons or even more feels disgusting to me. Don't get me wrong - I love driving, I'm an engineer who specialized in internal combustion engines, and so not for no reason, but ... wasting all that power, all that energy, for such heavy vehicles ... no. Not cool.

Anything about American trucks really brings out the hatefulness and arrogance in some of you. There are legitimate reasons for vehicles like this and seeing one in a parking lot really doesn't tell you if these people have a valid reason or not. I drive up to the tops of remote mountain tops to support communications for fire and police departments. It can't be done in a triumph. But carry on with your d**k jokes. They're so clever. Do your part to get rid of these things if you don't like them. Stop buying and using the stuff they help create. Like food, shelter, utilities, emergency services, etc. Or just enjoy an interesting picture without belittling strangers.

"Cars aren't continuously getting bigger... you're imagining things... this is not a totally ludicrous size for a car that will usually transport one single human... totally normal..." yeah, right.

The Triumph's emissions are awful for its size, but it's better than those revolting buses.

I live in Canada and everyone told me I needed an suv van or truck when I had kids, they thought I was crazy when I bought a small crossover that just fits a stroller and groceries. When asked how I would take roadtrips etc I told them I could rent something bigger if needed with the money I saved in purchase price and gas. It blew their minds. I don't need a tank for groceries and work.

I live on a road in which more people get hit BY deer than actually hit them. I'd be scared to even hit a chipmunk in that thing.

Right? The most damage I ever had was a buck running into the side of my ford escort. I didn't hit the deer, it hit me. Driver's side door was smashed in. I was only going 35 mph. I can't imagine having a deer hit you in that car.

Unless big trucks like those are for hauling trailers or boats, I tend to think the owner is attempting to compensate for some shortcoming.

It's absolutely disgusting that the female handball team were fined for wearing similar to the men's instead of their usual bikini style clothes. The committee in charge of those rules should be ashamed of themselves.

The plant on the right gets substantially more sunlight than the plant on the left with the shadow of the shed but sure. (That being said, research does show that the gentle vibrations of normal, calm voices can stimulate plant growth. Google it.)

Genuine question: seeing as they are a protected species and the feathers have cultural significance, would that person be allowed to keep that feather?

The color changes you see underwater are really startling. Like my good fins are red, and you can see them turn blue and then black as you get further from the surface. Other colors look the same, but red colors are filtered out very quickly.

It is ridiculous and it’s really harmful for your self stem. The other day I saw a L T-shirt that was 1Cm wider than a xxs. Two trousers of the same size, one fit perfectly and the other didn’t pass my tights. I bought in the same store a xxL and a L that were the same size (of a normal L). I felt horrible when I needed a xxL until I measured it with the other shirt I got. It’s horrible for the self steam.

Sure it's a dandelion? I think it might actually be a salsify seed ball. They look like dandelion seed balls but bigger.

So much modern housing is built on ancient flood planes with zero planning during construction for bad weather. England is terrible for it, plus they stopped dredging the rivers on the say so of environmental nut-jobs which really helped flood everywhere
