The Local Nursing Home Is An Indoor Town. There's A Movie Theater And Pub
This place is called "Doverwood Village". It's a skilled nursing facility located in Hamilton, OH. Senior residents receive 24-hour medical care while also getting the rehabilitation care they need, which can include range of motion exercises, gait and balance training and individualized exercise programs. The movie theater shows movies 2x each day. An old one and a new one.

This is Chesterwood Village in West Chester Ohio! It is a continuing care community and has all levels of care (independent patio homes, independent apartments, assisted living, and memory care assisted living).
Considering that even basic memory care units in the US cost more than $100,000 per year, I can't even imagine how expensive this elaborate place must be.
I would imagine that the pub and movie etc. would be at least self-supporting if not for profit, charging a bit for their services.

That is ABSOLUTELY amazing!!! Those people deserve it and after what those facilities charge, why shouldn't they give every amenity possible and make it as beautiful as can be!!!!!

I notice they don't post prices. I've looked at several retirement communities in our area for my mom and in-laws. They are NOT cheap and this one certainly looks pricey.

Oh, my grandma just moved into one of those and it's like an apartment. It's good for her though cuz she can still drive.
My Mother-in-law lives here! It is such a great place that I tell my kids that this is where I want to live if I live long enough. :)
I LOVE this! I'd love to build a little mini 'city' where older people could retire. Everything would be within walking distance, and they could be as independent/taken care of, as needed.
What if it could be organized somehow that ever citizen, age 20 - 60, put $2/month into a fund to support this for our seniors? We will all be there one day.

I agree with all comments regarding senior facilities being painted beige. Three summers ago, I spent a month in a retirement home in Coney Island, recovering from a broken hip. Each floor was a different color. And each room on that floor followed that color theme. The windows in the guests rooms had a simple but colorful cornice over the windows with matching curtains. What a difference! Having visited relatives in nursing homes, just this thoughtful bit of color and curtains made it feel so much more like a home and so much less like an institution.
I want my mom to live here. She deserves to live out the rest of her life in happiness.

This is great for residents with dementia but i think the healthy ones might feel a bit patronised.
Residents and families love it. Dementia residents are in a different building. If you visit in person you could see it's more like a last Vegas NYNY very well done and comfortable

It's not a nursing home, it's independent living and they work awesome. We consider every detail for seniors in the design. It's even more incredible in person.

The sand composition can vary drastically depending on where it’s from, but this grain is from a beach in Hawaii, where Dr. Greenberg is located.

This Butterfly Is A Bilateral Gynandromorph, Literally Half Male, Half Female
A gynandromorph is an organism that contains both male and female characteristics. But this butterfly is a bilateral gynandromorph, which means one half is completely female and the other half is completely male. The cause of this phenomenon is typically, but not always, an event in mitosis during early development. While the organism contains only a few cells, one of the dividing cells does not split its sex chromosomes typically. This leads to one of the two cells having sex chromosomes that cause male development and the other cell having chromosomes that cause female development. For example, an XY cell undergoing mitosis duplicates its chromosomes, becoming XXYY. Usually this cell would divide into two XY cells, but in rare occasions the cell may divide into an X cell and an XYY cell. If this happens early in development, then a large portion of the cells are X and a large portion are XYY. Since X and XYY dictate different sexes, the organism has tissue that is female and tissue that is male.
