Likewise, Sweden, Germany, Hungary, Spain, the Netherlands and Italy also hold a very positive outlook toward the EU.

The sow stole his laptop (in the yellow bag). According to Pew Center, views of the economy play a large role in how people generally view the European Union. According to their study, those who think their country’s economic situation is good are more likely to have a favorable opinion of the EU in most countries surveyed.

“In Sweden, for example, 81% of those who think the Swedish economy is in good shape also have a positive view of the EU; just 42% of those who think the economy is functioning poorly share that sentiment,” the study stated.

Remember back in the day when every different model of the same manufacturer cane with a charger that would only work with maybe three different phones? When you couldn't even charge your phone at your friend's house because he had a Motorola and you had a Nokia? The EU then demanded a standard to br used by manufacturers wishing to sell in the EU. Back then it was Mini USB, but it was a huge leap forward. Remember that. Without rules, manufacturers will exploit the freedom and won't provide you with the best, but with the most money-generating charger.

Most cell phone prices are due to the greed of the provider. Go outside your provider and you'll find it for a much less. I bought my Galaxy Note 9 for $260. US Cellular wanted $1000. And going outside the provider I was able to get an unlocked phone which means I can remove most of that preloaded crap no one uses. At least, no one I've ever met. Now if someone could only figure out a way to remove the illegal tracking software the government had installed on every cell phone last year.

I may be misunderstanding here but it says a universal CHARGER, not charge (as in cost) so I'm understanding this as meaning that the aim there is to have one universal type of phone charger which works with all brands of phone. I am a little stumped as how this would work when they all have different charger ports on the actual phone. Does that mean, this will just be in place for any new phones? Or did somebody just type this wrong and actually meant that the price would be the same for all chargers?! That doesn't seem to be something that a bill would be passed for... so someone please help me understand this! Thank you!

Yeah. That was years ago. Apple: does not comply. USB keeps changing. But the biggest crime is removing the headphone jack. Instead bluetooth headsets: easy to lose one, mediocre sound due to compression, technically complicated and again 2 more non-repairable and non-recycleble batteries and that for multiple of the price of ordinary in-ear headsets.

The vote was specifically on the charger though, not the cable. I'll be money i don't have that Apple won't be getting rid of lightning cables, just making sure they are compatible with the universal charger.

This is kind of hilarious. You could charge any mobile devices with a cheap _cable_ that fits to a standard USB port. But even if you standardice that other end of the cable you can't create a universal charger because the wall sockets are not even closely standardized around the globe and US charger is useful as a brick in UK or in continental Europe. Alas the micromanagement..

The standardised charger is from usb to usb c. USB goes into country specific plug and usb c goes into all devices. Apple have already started in Europe and will fully comply. There are more customers in Europe than the USA.

Most likely to discourage German bomber crews. It didn't protect them completely though as Dublin was bombed (accidentally). Downed aircrew (from both sides) were interned in a pretty agreeable fashion until the end of hostilities. Most (upon their personal assurance and personal guarantee that they wouldn't do a runner) were allowed out of camp - even down to the pub in the evening! How civilized!
