This summer I had a wonderful chance to explore small but very unusual and beautiful country – Malta. Despite the main island Malta is only 27 km long and 15 km wide there are lots of interesting places and …small details. Yes, you have to keep your eyes open while walking along these narrow Maltese streets to enjoy its door handles, openwork wickets, door signs, small sculptures… In my future posts I will show you what I mean, but now I’d like to show you one of my favorite places in Malta – a traditional fishing village Marsaxlokk.

This village is located in the South Eastern Region of Malta and it’s main sights are colorful boats that are called Luzzu. There is a pair of eyes on boats’ bows that are referred to as the Eye of Horus or of Osiris. It is said that these eyes protect the fishermen while sailing. So here are some photos that were taken by me in Marsaxlokk Harbour, I hope you’ll enjoy them! ;)
