Someone Asked Twitter To Name A Badder B*tch Than Taylor Swift, Probably Did Not Expect A Reaction Like This
Taylor Swift is trying to rebrand herself from an "innocent girl who cries while writing love songs" to a "heartless tyrant who sits on a golden throne surrounded by snakes," but the internet isn't buying it. When @xnulz posted a still from Swift's music video "Look What You Made Me Do," asking people to "Name a badder bitch than Taylor Swift," they started an unstoppable storm of stories celebrating strong women throughout history.
From determined politicians and activists to artists and performers, these women have been pushing society to change for the better long before Taylor Swift dropped her album Reputation. Bored Panda has compiled some of the most hilarious and inspirational replies to the challenge. What is f****d up is that I was born and raised in Poland but never heard of her untill now. All the war heroes we talked about in school were men.
My Maternal Grandmother, Catherine Alina vanLoon, with 11 of her own chikdren, hid them and her friends and neighbours chikdren in and around her home from the Nazis during the occupation of Holland, WWII. All survived. After the war, amid the reconstruction of the country, the government of the Netherlands paid her and her children’s way to Australia (where she wanted to move) in gratitude for her service.
My aunt, Meng Phuon, a widower with 3 little children in a Khmer Rouge camp in 1980s, was forced to carry bombs up the mountain by truck loads while her team lost all their strength and couldn't continue, she finished it all by herself because she wanted to go home to her hungry children. They always fought for rice and water there, after waiting for hours to get the little water left in the well, she pushed her way to the well and people on both sides fell over. She did the same with the rice truck and walked away with a sack of 100kg on her back. Her children survived because of her and they came back to Cambodia. She never remarried. She used to climbed the mountain to cut trees and brought them home to build her house. Once there were 4 men wanted to try her strength while she was drunk, she fought back and sent them to the hospital with broken bones.
Ted, looks like she is a huge part of your life in the way she lived hers. Such a gift from mother to son. I hope she rests in peace.
I think their campaign backfired. They asked a question expecting people to say "no one is badder than taylor swift" when in all actuality everyone who replied with an answer and the people mentioned in those answers are twenty times badder than Swift will ever be! G-d bless your mother!

Taylor Swift is a semi-talented girl that was a music label's wet dream---young, tall, pretty, marginally talented (she could play guitar, God knows she can't sing) and cute personality that all the tweens fell in love with. She started out in country music and the record label turned her into a pop music princess with massive use of auto tune and a stylist. Anybody can be "bad" when they have as many people behind them to make them look good as TS has. Can't even say she "makes music". She's just a little tween & teeny bopper icon that was transformed by a record company. If she was really all that "bad", she would have refused the record label's offer to turn into a pop queen & stayed with country music, where she started out.

As an Irish woman I completely agree with you Muiscon, Mary Robinson made her name by campaigning tirelessly in the 70s for women's rights and in the 80s for the right to abortion. I know this as a fact because my mother worked with her. We have had referenda about abortion. And the politicians have done their job by putting it forward. Ok I mentioned this earlier but here's what Grace did in part...Grace O'Malley an Irish Piratess who held off the English, got Queen Elizabeth to side with her against the Queen's own captain, robbed and stole many English ships with her men, married twice, taking her second husband's fort as collateral as she declared divorce to him. Had a lover- a Spanish sailor from the Armada when it broke apart on the Irish shores, had a child on board ship and then got up and led her men to victory when they were losing as she was giving birth. Among my Great Grandma's many colorful stories, she once fought off two muggers with a hat pin. ❤️
I loved reading about all these amazing women. The women today face different battles (thank goodness) but without those in history we would be in a very different situation. I'm sure Taylor has had her own battles but to me, she's just a performer. There are everyday heroes out there that face a lot more than her. So thank your EMT's, nurses, doctors, police, and firefighters (the list could go on) who all include women in their ranks. I believe today's society is very backwards.

Can I add my grandma? She is half he's half native American. Her father's family left Germany during ww2 and he met my great grandmother who was native. They had 9 kid's my grandma being the oldest. They lived on an Indian reservation but my gran was treated as an outsider cause she was only half native. They all shared 1 bed and had practically nothing. She also hiked the whole Appalachian trail in her 50s and now travels the world by herself!! She's amazing!

My great-x grandmother Lorree on the frontier, Ohio, about 1830. A tree fell and crushed a man's leg. It had to be amputated, but the doctor fainted. Lorree took the saw and removed the leg very carefully. The man survived and the doctor found another career. She was as tough as nails, but never used eyeliner, and if you want to call her a "b*tch," it'd better not be within the hearing of any of her descendants.

I can never take anything away from these amazing women who are mentioned in the previous comments. With that said at a minimum every single wife, mom, daughter and girlfriend who had to kiss/hug their serviceman goodbye as they leave for war and then sit and wait for a phone call, text message, FaceTime, etc. for months and months. Who hug their babies and have to be momma and daddy through all their f the holidays, family get togethers, girls night out, staying up with sick babies, taking vacations, homework alone....I can go on and on. Those women make Taylor Swift mediocre at best. They ask for nothing. They proudly stand up for their rights and they’re proud of the man they support. Sorry TS, get a new gig or hey, start helping these families by being the role model you know you should be.
I would love to see the conversation shift away from the use of the word "bad a*s". The stories shared here are of courageous, brave, determined, soulful women. This is a great thread, there are so many people out there that are clueless about the badasses and heroes in their own lives.
Lots of great examples here, my own grandmother who is Italian was a little girl when the Nazis stormed through her village, she still hears the sounds of the boots marching through in her dreams occasionally, they hid in a dirty basement for a few weeks, she looked after her 4 younger siblings as mum was very ill and dad had passed away before they escaped and were rescued by my grandad (British soldier) and brought them back over here, very inspirational stories from strong brave women who went through things we cant even comprehend. Taylor Swift makes s****y songs about s****y breakups with s****y men and really is the opposite of a bad b***h, f**k her.

I can never take anything away from these amazing women who are mentioned in the previous comments. With that said at a minimum every single wife, mom, daughter and girlfriend who had to kiss/hug their serviceman goodbye as they leave for war and then sit and wait for a phone call, text message, FaceTime, etc. for months and months. Who hug their babies and have to be momma and daddy through all their f the holidays, family get togethers, girls night out, staying up with sick babies, taking vacations, homework alone....I can go on and on. Those women make Taylor Swift mediocre at best. They ask for nothing. They proudly stand up for their rights and they’re proud of the man they support. Sorry TS, get a new gig or hey, start helping these families by being the role model you know you should be.
I would love to see the conversation shift away from the use of the word "bad a*s". The stories shared here are of courageous, brave, determined, soulful women. I would rather encourage my daughter to develop these values than become a 'bad a*s'. I am just tired of the over use of this word. Broccoli is bad a*s. My grandmother was more badass than Taylor Swift. She raised 11 children by herself after a house fire took her husband and oldest son during a time when food was harder to come by and clothes were home made. Every day she cooked for 12. She baked enough bread for 12. She peeled potatoes for 12. She cooked holiday dinners for 12. She washed clothes for 12. She grew food for 12. All this in the no mans land of North Dakota. My grandma was more badass(no question about it)- - but then, so is my grand niece who is 3 years old and the cutest thing I have ever seen.

In defense of T Swift, she doesn't live during war time, she lives now. The biggest battle most people face today is rising to the top of their field, and she has done that. Taylor does have the best producers, because she can afford them. She writes and performs all her own songs. She dominates in a male dominated field. She created a niche for herself. She has more net worth than 95% of the world's population. And she seems like a decent human being.
So many more inspirational and much better women on here than what she ever would be. What happened to the sweet girl she used to be like every other celebrity I'll throw a million dollars at you if you show the world your tits. This is a great thread, there are so many people out there that are clueless about the badasses and heroes in their own lives.
Lots of great examples here, my own grandmother who is Italian was a little girl when the Nazis stormed through her village, she still hears the sounds of the boots marching through in her dreams occasionally, they hid in a dirty basement for a few weeks, she looked after her 4 younger siblings as mum was very ill and dad had passed away before they escaped and were rescued by my grandad (British soldier) and brought them back over here, very inspirational stories from strong brave women who went through things we cant even comprehend. Taylor Swift makes s****y songs about s****y breakups with s****y men and really is the opposite of a bad b***h, f**k her.

I really think Taylor Swift is a poor role model and seemingly dishonest person. That said, tearing down one woman to uplift others is contradictory to who these other amazing women are. It’s petty and that’s never a good thing.
