“Am I Wrong For Walking Out Of The Baby Shower My In-Laws Threw For Me?”
378Kviews
A Gallup poll revealed that 54% of American men between the ages of 18 and 49 would prefer a boy. Knowing the gains women have made in education, suffrage and business, rooting for one gender is deeply problematic. And as it turns out, sometimes it’s the in-laws who’re rooting for one gender for a mom at an ultrasound appointment.
This twisted story comes from a 27-year-old woman who’s expecting her first baby. While the pressure from her in-laws about having a boy was building up, the doctor’s appointment came and it turned out to be a girl.
First it was her husband who broke down crying in the car and couldn’t break the news to his parents right away. Then, it was the in-laws who ghosted her for days and “then started coming over and visiting, constantly referring to my daughter as my son, claiming the results were false and basically pretending it’s a boy.”
Scroll down through this one hell of a family drama that involves the legacy of a deceased grandpa, baby shower for an imaginary child and whatnot. Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
One 27-year-old woman has shared how her in-laws refused to accept she’s expecting a baby girl and even threw a baby shower for their “imaginary grandson”

Quote "He won't be coming home until I get my ass over there and apologize". Problem solved, don't apologize and change all the locks on the doors. Fu*king idiot family.
Yep. She and they little girl they don't want will be much happier without that group of lunatics.
yup I know what it's like having a family who doesn't aknowledge your gender, "love" you only if you're (gender) or choose a gender for you : wouldn't wish that to that little baby : may she live away from her family with her mother ♡
I would add to also repeat their conversation via text so she can have proof for the future of how is the husband reacting to having a girl. It will be handy for the divorce, custody and when he stops paying child support.
That's a good idea. Get him on the phone and record his bs. I once adviced a friend to record when he started threatening her. The police got to hear it ..... She now has sole custody thank God.
Seriously. Whats wrong with people? :(
IKR! She's doing very well now. Her son (my godson) is also top of his class, wants to visit me this summer and also very happy. It took a lot of guts to put a 4 yo in the car and just leave.
Btw, I have exciting news! We are moving back to my country! My partner has found work at my parents town and since i cant have a job here or travel easily to my family he considered that its better for both to be in my country. I wanted to share with you since you are always so kind :)
OMG ! Ozacoter, I'm so very happy for you. I know you were struggling. I'm just grinning like an idiot typing this. When are you leaving? It must be nice to be close to family and friends again and so nice of your hubby to change jobs. Your happiness made my day better ! HUGS
Thanks! You are really a good online pal :) We are moving because he found a job there and he wants me to be closer home. Its only 30m driving from my parents. I am crazy happy!
I can't stop smiling I'm that happy for you!
:) I am so excited!
I know. I wish I could come over and give you a hug and we could jump up and down like a pair of 14 year olds. Will you keep me posted? XXXXXXXXX
She is really brave. I am glad that she is doing well.
Agreed! I also wonder how they would have treated a boy if that's what the baby turned out to be. Would he be allowed to have his own personality and interests, or would they expect/demand he be a clone of the deceased father-in-law?
That might be the best plan I read so far. They're nuts. Imagine they'd come over to my place to get the poodle's hair dressed ... hahaha, what would Gina, who is a cat, love to bite and scratch and punch the shid outta such!
Hahaha Poodles hair. LOL
Document everything, every phone call, crazy message and visit. Get ready to get a restraining order and get those people, including the husband, out of your and your child's life. Their behavior is insane, they know no boundaries, who k own what they'll do next.
This is unfortunately very "normal" behaviour for Indian families.
That's really disturbing
Ah, really? I was wondering if this was another of those made up stories, but that’s interesting, however, very, very sad to know that this is more common than I realised.
unfortunately it's not made up story, most Middle Eastern, and Asian families value a male child instead of a female. To me if this poor girl doesn't put her foot down, it's the beginning of a long hardship with this family.
Are you Indian, Martha Meyer?
