I wouldn’t have believed that an owl and a dog could become best friends until I saw these surprising and adorable photos by Tanja Brandt, a professional animal photographer and collage artist in Germany. Ingo the Malinois shepherd dog and Poldi, the cute owl, seem more than happy to cozy up to each other for photoshoots bathed in golden evening light.
If you like these photos, be sure to visit Brandt’s site, because Ingo has a whole lot of beautiful animal friendships, be they other Belgian shepherds or other fierce birds of prey besides Poldi. Brandt creates animal photos and collages professionally, so she seems to have a lot of cooperative models to work with!
Though these animal pictures indeed are adorable and unique, Ingo the Malinois dog and Poldi the owl aren’t the only unusual and cute animal friends out there – we have a post about all sorts of unusual animal friends!

Share on FacebookA lot of work involved in order to shape the dog's behaviour like that. And he's not skinny: that's how a peak form Malinois looks like
Awww cute!!! I like the second pic. This just shows that people shouldn't do animal cruelty
I couldn't agree with Bobcatthing more. Animals are also God's children.

Thank You Tanja, und Ein Vielen Dank for sharing these most delightful pictures. Have been doing animal rescue for over 45 years and have pictures of my duck sitting on my foot and holding an Owl in my hand that came down my chimney. Holding one of God's Special Creatures (Owl) in my hand is a moment that I will never forget. God Bless You and your wonderful animals. john sbeigay ( Georg Hans Günter Sbiegaÿ ) The more I work with people, the more I Love the Animals.

Terribly contrived. I would've like to have seen some not staged or posed.
I love how the owl only look "annoyed" when it look right at the camera. "Get that camera out of here!!" XD
Denis is WRONG about this Shepherd being too thin. You're supposed to be able to FEEL their ribs, NOT see them. I would turn the owner in.
My dog destiny and i have this past week had an amazing experience with an owl we visit it now on our daily walk it swoops down onto the dog in a very playful manner this has happened about 6 times this week alone i will send you some pics when i get my phone back from repair ... a very amazing experience watching two animals connecting like this. Thanks. Colin Tandy
Ok, first of all, that dog is absolutely beautiful, and I love the trust between the dog and the owl.
Love it, love it, love it!!! That dog is beautiful and the owl trusts the dog not to hurt him.
You filled my heart with such a warm feeling after a stressful day. Be blessed!
Adorable! It happens to like a lot the owls. They are so incredibly beautiful birds. I also had an adorable shepherd dog crazy great dog...
most of U R correct, all R alive, some pics R collages, some R trained poses. she's a photographer/collage artist&trainer, go see her FBpage
Amazing this breed is so loyal and incredibly smart,i have a German shepherd and she is the same way so to you skeptical people Genoa the b
This dog is a Belgian Malionis, not a German Shepherd.

Oops, Ahhhhs & Giggles! Wonderful & Heartwarming! Amazing Photography too!
Beautiful images; clearly "staged" in that the dog and owl were positioned and given lighting and a conducive environment, but NOT FAKE.
You can find her page by Googling "Ingo und Else," you will see many other photos. The owl is clearly real. So is the eagle.
Beautiful dog, tolerant owl. Very nice images. Obviously somewhat enhanced, but also obviously containing a dog, and an owl.
Words cannot describe just how beautiful this friendship is. Pictures are fantastic x
Denis is WRONG about this dog not being too skinny. It doesn't matter what the breed is, you're supposed to be able to FEEL THEIR RIBS, NOT SEE THEM. This Shepherd is NOT being fed enough. I would turn this owner in.
I had a Malinois and was concerned about his "showy" ribcage. He ate a little bit more than "recommended" amount. My Vet said it is normal for the breed.
