Cold Weather At Hot Springs Lets Canadians Create Crazy Frozen Hairdos
Takhini Hot Springs, a natural hot spring located near Whitehorse in north-western Canada, is the location of a fun and bizarre annual tradition called the hair freezing contest.
Every February, the hot springs’ management invites bathers to come and style their hair by wetting it and styling it as it freezes. Even in winter, the water remains a balmy 36-42 C (96-107 F), while the optimal February temperature for styling frozen hair is around -30 C (-22 F). The winner of the contest gets a $150 cash prize!

Share on FacebookI guess you can say... they have a brainfreeze!! YAAOOOW!! I'm so sorry, im gonna go back to my hole now.
I love the heat flushed faces combined with the frozen eyelashes! Bizarre!
I think the copywriter could have added another crazy" right before the word Canadians.
These people are ridiculous. When hair is frozen like that it can literally snap off. I've seen it happen.
I live here, natural as it gets, don't think so? airlines come here several times a day, try it out. But don't whine when you find out you can't handle the cold.
