Ice-T Writes A Blunt And Brutal Post About His ‘No-Masker’ Father-In-Law Almost Dying From Covid-19 And It Goes Viral

It’s no secret that there are tons of conspiracy theories related to the pandemic out there and they can be dangerous to people’s health because they throw safety precautions out of the window. Case in point, rapper Ice-T is married to model Coco Austin and her father, Steve, spent more than a month in the ICU on the verge of death this year. Ice-T’s father-in-law was an anti-masker, but after experiencing what Covid-19 can do to the body he’s become a full-on ‘Covid-believer.’
Ice-T’s initial blunt tweet about Covid not being a game got a bunch of attention (69k likes isn’t bad) and he then started up a fiery discussion among his fans. According to pop culture and celebrity expert Mike, “anti-maskers are turning themselves into victims,” like Ice-T suggests. “Latest research shows masks don’t just protect others from COVID, but they protect the mask wearer as well. We keep learning more and more about this new disease, and it’s important to pay attention to the science to avoid becoming a victim,” he pointed out.
It’s not just Ice-T who’s talking about the importance of health and safety during the pandemic. Other celebrities like Jennifer Aniston, Meghan Markle, Ariana Grande, and Lady Gaga are huge proponents of wearing masks.
“However, nearly every celebrity is aware of the importance of wearing a mask, and are very careful to do so in public where they may be photographed,” Mike pointed out. “It’s going to be a no-win situation, and any celebrity will receive an onslaught of criticism if they leave their home not wearing a mask.”
It’s all about starting a discussion and saving lives
While celebrities like Ice-T can help spread the word about issues like the pandemic, like the rapper said, Covid-deniers probably won’t change their views until their health deteriorates.
Some of Ice-T’s fans criticized him for ‘using’ his wife’s dad as an example to further his goals. But the rapper was having none of that kind of backtalk: he pointed out that he obviously thinks the topic’s serious to him if he’s willing to draw upon a loved one’s experience.
The rapper also implied that he sees anti-maskers as ‘victims,’ implying that they’re gullible or that they were ‘deceived’ by someone. In this case, Ice-T suggests that US President Donald Trump who’s to blame for spreading misinformation.
The rapper’s father-in-law went to the hospital in Arizona back in June. And even though he’s home now, his lungs have been damaged and he’s on oxygen indefinitely.

Does anyone "deserve" to die for not wearing a mask? No. Not wearing a mask is not a death penalty offense. However, is it *fair* that they get a fatal disease for not wearing a mask? Yes. Wear your mask. It helps slow the spread of a deadly & debilitating disease that destroys families & ends lives. If you think your personal comfort is worth more than somebody's life, you deserve to get the disease you disregard so casually because that's the only way you'll learn that your actions have consequences. & if you think the masks don't work, wear it anyway. What's the worst that can happen? It's better to unnecessarily wear something for the right reason than potentially risk lives for your own selfish desires.

A mask is more to protect others from the wearer than vice-versa, but it does have some protective effect for the wearer as well. With about 40% of new cases being caught from asymptomatic spreaders, it's the best way to limit the number of new cases. Sure, masks won't prevent all of them, but they're estimated to reduce new infections by about 80%
Coronavirus is very very serious. It has hit so many people that I know and care about. Right now, my aunt's friend's husband is being put in hospice care because Covid is shutting down his organs. In my small town of 11,000 people, we have over 500 active cases of coronavirus. My mother, sister and I are essential workers and have to be so careful while at work. My father and aunt are immunocompromised and this virus could kill them and that is why my family doesn't go to stores or anywhere else unless we are wearing a mask. Wearing a mask doesn't make you weak, it makes you a decent human being.

So I'm not saying i wish sickness on anyone, but we should try our hardest to educate these people.

I work in a store and while most people are doing the mask thing right its the older at risk people who shop 4-5 times per week and wear their noses out. To be clear I'm a person who thinks taking hygeine precautions is a great idea but stopping the world isnt. If youre high risk you should be careful about your exposure. But the " at risk" elderly with heart issues or diabetes are the ones not staying home. So what does that say? Idk maybe people dont believe it can happen to them.

I struggle with this. Even within my own family. People spreading false information and ideas are harmful to everyone. My father thinks the covid numbers are "fake news" and "those people would have died anyway". And walking the line between pushing back against false information and full blown arguments is hard.

Said it before and say it again. Whenever someone comes to ICU with Corona search his social media. No treatment if that person is a Covid-denier or anti-masker.
I normally think everyone should get equal treatment. But if I were a doctor (I'm not) and I had two people walk into the emergency room at the same time, one masked and one without, I would want to take care if the person who cares about others first. Which would obviously be the masked smart person. I would want to tell maskless guy he must wear a mask to get seen, and he must get at the back of the line behind all the masked people. I read somewhere years ago that this one girl had a STD and she would deliberately spread it around. If I remember correctly, she got charged because she was pretty much spreading death on purpose. People who go maskless are potentially spreading death, as well.
