I Used Photoshop To Create All Four Seasons In One Photo, You Won’t Believe It’s The Same Photo
Over the years Photoshop has gotten a LOT of criticism and a bit of a bed name for itself because of the various ways you can manipulate a photo with it. The words “it’s not real photography” are heard a lot when Photoshop is mentioned, and perhaps that’s true.
I really don’t consider myself a photographer though, as much as I consider myself an artist. I see Photoshop as a tool, much like a paint brush or a camera. With any tool there is a learning curve. I’ve used Photoshop over the years for very basic things, but last year I started really pushing myself to learn everything I could by watching YouTube videos and simply experimenting. I found the ‘Phlearn’ videos to be the most helpful.
I still have a lot to learn but I’m pretty happy with the results I’m starting to get. To test my abilities I decided to take a single photo and make four different edits of it, summer, fall, winter and spring, to see how I’m doing.
I’m not ashamed to admit that I use Photoshop, it’s a very powerful and helpful tool and it makes it possible for me to create the visions I have for my art.
What are your thoughts on Photoshop? Negative and positive thoughts are welcome.
I’m starting to take what I’ve learned and make tutorial videos along the way, including showing how I made these edits from this photo from start to finish. Check out more of my work and training materials on my website.
