I Turn Old Magazine Clippings Into Colourful Collage Creations
I love flipping through magazines and newspapers to find interesting images, words and shapes. I’ve started turning them into colourful collages, a process that can take days to complete and allows me to pause and be mindful. I’ve also experimented with combining collage and detailed line drawing.
I use my art to talk about issues that I care about: the social pressures on men and women to be physically attractive or to possess certain traits such as elegance or successfulness; the lack of understanding around mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety… whatever is on my mind, I turn into something that I can share with others in a visual way.
