I Tried To Make These Pictures Timeless And Meaningful. Symmetry And Typography.
Hi! My name is Olivier PONS, i’m a videographer and a photograph. I created the visual label dataproduction.
I chose to explore and enhance geometry and perspectives of the building 63 of the DMC spinning mill in Mulhouse.
To do it i imagined in a collection entitled SERENDIPITY : Paradigm of parallels, geometric shapes with graphic textual inscriptions that underline convergence lines of the factory.
This factory is a part of a huge industrial company, each building’s got their lines, their perspective, their parallels but this one just told me so many things about past, present and future.
All these pictures were taken in the same building, then printed in a building next to this one in a photolab called Hors-champs and exposed in the same building. It was really important and interesting to put the photographs inside the building and see how things can be revealed.
I decided to photoshop them to reveal all these strong but simple messages. Text and shapes try to express thoughts about science, society, human being, past future…
These parallels gave me the opportunity to find somethin that i didn’t look for. The concept of serendipity helped me to explain that.
Each photograph’s got its own meaning and story. What do you think about it?
