I began my print series, “Migrants,” as a way to explore and share the possible ecological effects of expanding the existing 654-mile wall along the entire 2,000-mile border between Mexico and the United States.

The project currently includes 16 animals, which are hand-printed linoleum relief prints with watercolor accents.

The U.S. fish and Wildlife Service has noted more than 111 endangered species and 108 migratory birds that could be affected by the expansion of this wall.

While carving and printing each animal, I was able to consider their struggles and the possible fate of each creature’s future. I hope that the prints challenge viewers to reimagine the world around us from a new perspective, and to see the ecological effects of our actions or complacency through the eyes of these animals.
