Whether it is walking wild in the Highlands, exploring lush green forests or taking a walk down a beach – there is always something to pick up and admire: an emerald green strand of moss, a pale pink bud of heather or a hatched egg shell. I took the leap into the jewellery making world (and the even scarier jump into self employment) at the age of 23 having saved up some money from my waitressing jobs and I have never looked back! I often longed for the freedom of getting outside and I knew I needed a job that allowed me to spread my wings.

Botanic Isles is my business and I create each little piece at my home studio in rural Angus, Scotland. I use eco friendly resin and sustainable ways of collecting and preserving Scottish nature. A piece can take up to 2 weeks to create and I put my very all into each and every piece.

Some of my favourite flowers to use are wild forget me nots, moss, dandelion seeds and heather. Each one of my pieces are unique and are impossible to replicate identically again. In this way you can wear a unique piece of art and a little piece of Scotland to hold close to your heart.

My home studio where I create each botanical specimen

Here I am collecting the tiny wild strawberries – my favourite part of Summer.

Hand picked wild strawberry earrings with sterling silver hooks for sensitive ears. These tiny strawberries were found near my home, growing wild.

I also use forget me nots often in my work, which are collected from the Isle of Arran, not far from Lochranza Castle.
