Hi there,
I’m Sow Ay, a French illustrator and here are some comics about transidentity.
I’ve always been drawing about real life (like on this article I made some years ago about mental illness : https://www.boredpanda.com/anxiety-depression-illustrations-comics-sow-ay/) so it felt natural to talk about what life as a trans guy is. But this time, it feels way harder than to share my comics about depression. So I’m really anxious about sharing it in here.
Seeing trans people sharing their journey helped me a lot, so I think about the younger me when I share these comics. I lived in denial and avoided everything trans related because that made me question too much, and I refused to accept being trans. Until after 25 years old. I wish I accepted this younger and didn’t spend all that time fighting myself.
For these, I wanted to keep a very minimalist style that stays close to what they look like in my sketchbook. Everything is handmade. I’d love to release a book called T̶o̶m̶boy that would look like a sort of diary with these comics. Maybe someday…

Damn. I’m sad to say that i have not been there. But I HAVE experienced the feeling of not being accepted by your parents. sadly I know they wont come around and accept me being gay. But what I can do is wish you well my good friend. And I wish and hope that you will be successful in your upcomings.
I read your mental health comics and went to your page to see if you had more... I'm so glad I did. I'm a young trans guy who is still struggling with his identity and a non-supportive family... These comics aren't positive, and it's scary thinking about this, about what you're facing now, what so many people face, and what I'll likely face in the future. But... sorry if this comes off as wrong, but it's nice to see comics I can so easily relate to... I don't know... I do know I will be keeping up with your posts, though.

Wow thats a lot you have been going though. I sometimes worry how to deal with transgender people correctly. I remember wondering, when working at telephone service, about the deep voice a officially "female" customer had. After reading it I wonder if it was someone transitioning.
