I wanted to be an artist since the time I could hold a pencil. It was my main life goal. Anytime someone asked me what I was going to be when I grew up I would tell them, without hesitation, an artist! I created every single day, I was/am very passionate about my work. Things can change though, very quickly, not in a bad way, just different. I got married and had a child soon after, A little girl we named Jorgie (pronounced Georgie :) ) Thats when life really changed for me. I had this creature who depended solely upon me for everything. Soon I had no time for anything else. Not for cleaning, Cooking, Hanging out with friends, much less ART! I was ok with it for the most part. It was a hard adjustment, but I handled pretty well I think. In fact, I handled it so well that My husband and I decided adding another little one would be fun. Needless to say I had even less time.. after struggling through trying to paint and having my art colored and scribbled on by little hands I decided I needed to just start involving my kiddos in my work. They’re such a big part of every other aspect in my life, why couldn’t they be a part of my art too. So that brings us to here, Where I’m creating pieces of work that my daughter gets to help with. She feels important and has a sense of accomplishment. It’s a wonderful way for us to bond. I can’t wait until Amelia is old enough to hold a paint brush and not eat paint so she can help with our paintings too. I encourage every mom or dad to give this a try. It’s actually quite fun and don’t worry about the mess, you’re making memories.
