6 Comics Show How The World Looks When You’re Self-Conscious

Sometimes, when you say something stupid or are insecure about the way you look – it can feel like everyone is staring at you. Even though they’re probably not.

Writer Willie Muse and illustrator Paul Westover have teamed up and created a set of comics showing the difference between how the world looks when you feel self-conscious and how it actually looks. Created for College Humor, the comics are so on-point, I’m sure you’ll relate!

Oh, way too relatable. Also, when given compliment, immediately think it's a pity-compliment.

I can't shake the feeling that if someone compliments me, it's either out of pity or they are saying that I am pretty or whatever for someone like me, but not as pretty as pretty people are, or that they might like me but that means they have a weird taste, or that they are trying to get something by complimenting me... compliments are always the worst.

Personally, I can get self conscious because I think everyone else is judging me as much as I'm judging them. Yes, I know, I'm terrible.

Nice one but for the final pannel! Please dont seek to be healed by another person (unless is psychotherapy of course), it is an unfair expectation and will end most likely in dissapointment.

It's something to get over, not wallow in. Like the first couple of times you go to the gym. You think everybody is staring at you. After awhile you realize you're pretty much invisible.

Really? I usually look at the people in the gym and fantasize about their lives.

ya that is true happens to me but i go through Depression, stress, anxiety, and self conscious but 10 times worse i feel if i was skinny people would love me but then i feel if i was fatter people would love but i already have thunder thighs and a booty and all that. Then there's times where i think maybe if i didnt listen to the bands i listen to people would except me and if i wasn't so shy people would talk to me. Then there's this one maybe if i had my real grandparents instead of calling my great and my great uncle my grandparents people would understand but if you wanna know more about my family just reply its very complicated.

It's a cliche but things will get better, don't change yourself for other people, it won't make a difference and if it does they aren't worth having around anyways. Hang in there.

This is so sad, but many people feel this way. Though they wouldn't need to.

What he/she said: You have nice outfit What's a real meaning: You look really good. What I understand: (behind my back) Everybody looks at this idiot and his stupid outfit. What he/she said: Will you join to me and my friends this evening? What's a real meaning: Please, come, without you is boring. What I understad he/she meant: Please, say no, say no. We can't stand you anymore. You're so annoying. I don't wish anyone self-consicous. It can ruin friendships, dreams... Everything

The feeling you get that all your awkwardness and stupidity and pleased-to-neat-you and just not being right is forgiven because someone you value indicates they value you.

This is how it's like to me, except I let my feelings out on a paper than burn it. Usually it says a lot of hating myself
