Sometimes, when you say something stupid or are insecure about the way you look – it can feel like everyone is staring at you. Even though they’re probably not.
Writer Willie Muse and illustrator Paul Westover have teamed up and created a set of comics showing the difference between how the world looks when you feel self-conscious and how it actually looks. Created for College Humor, the comics are so on-point, I’m sure you’ll relate!

I can't shake the feeling that if someone compliments me, it's either out of pity or they are saying that I am pretty or whatever for someone like me, but not as pretty as pretty people are, or that they might like me but that means they have a weird taste, or that they are trying to get something by complimenting me... compliments are always the worst.

Nice one but for the final pannel! Please dont seek to be healed by another person (unless is psychotherapy of course), it is an unfair expectation and will end most likely in dissapointment.
Well is something one can do about it? I really am growing weary of caring so much what others think
he does! (if I was really mean I'd say something like "you wish" hihi)

Really? I usually look at the people in the gym and fantasize about their lives.

Then there's times where i think maybe if i didnt listen to the bands i listen to people would except me and if i wasn't so shy people would talk to me. Then there's this one maybe if i had my real grandparents instead of calling my great and my great uncle my grandparents people would understand but if you wanna know more about my family just reply its very complicated.
It's a cliche but things will get better, don't change yourself for other people, it won't make a difference and if it does they aren't worth having around anyways. Hang in there.

What he/she said: Will you join to me and my friends this evening? What's a real meaning: Please, come, without you is boring. What I understad he/she meant: Please, say no, say no. We can't stand you anymore. You're so annoying. I don't wish anyone self-consicous. It can ruin friendships, dreams... Everything
Social anxiety + Aspergers makes life seem like this for me + being bullied in all 7 secondary schools i went to 🙁
I perfectly relate with this plus i suffer anxiety. Ans social anxiety
if the world is so cruel to you, why are you keeping it that way?
The feeling you get that all your awkwardness and stupidity and pleased-to-neat-you and just not being right is forgiven because someone you value indicates they value you.

sadly, everyone except some douchebags can relate
