This Online Group Collects Random Advice On “How To Do Anything And Everything Yourself” And Here’s 40 Of The Best Ones
Life hacks are basically an entire subgenre of online content. The trend has permeated all the social media platforms and gained a somewhat notorious reputation for being either inexplicably absurd (like, chopping onions with a face shield or getting stains out of your shirt with shaving foam) or simply “but why?”-inducing.
But luckily, the internet is one endless black hole (can we all just agree on that description?) and that means there should be some genuinely useful tips to make our lives easier and more efficient floating around. Well, if you are like me, in search of ways to make yourself do stuff by yourself, proving that you’re an independent responsible millennial adult, the chances are, sooner or later, you’d stumble upon the “How To” subreddit.
According to the sub’s description, it’s a place “where you can learn how to do anything and everything yourself! Need advice on how to start a podcast or how to fix your car? It's all here from A-Z!” So if it seems like a promise, a whopping 2.9M followers prove it overdelivers.
Scroll down through the most useful bits of random advice below that may be the solution you were looking for all this time!

One way to go about it is setting a goal for yourself in order to learn something. Turns out, it’s a key to long-term happiness, as it gives you both a long-term vision and short-term motivation. First off, it focuses on you and makes you the creator of your own life in a world where we too often believe in coincidences. No wonder many of those who accomplish their dreams, goals or resolutions become much more confident in themselves.
Your journey of progress really depends on what kind of goal you set for yourself. It may be big or small, life-long, year-long or even a week-long goal. For some, it may be losing a few pounds, for others it’s getting promoted, learning a new language, running a marathon, overcoming a fear, you name it.

Another way to go about it is to try and become more useful to the people around you. The feeling that you are, in some way, useful to another human being is one of the most precious things that can boost your self-esteem, help the relationship, and give a sense of fulfillment. And to be so, you don’t have to be an inverter, entrepreneur or have a wall of diplomas.
The key to being useful to others is making them stand taller than you are. And it takes simple things like telling people their strengths when they forget about them, or helping them to avoid mistakes. Believing in others and telling them that is another way to empower those around you. Try listening without judgment as most often all people want is simply to be heard.
By doing that, we realize that our actions, our words, and our presence are capable of adding value to another human being’s life. And that is one hell of a life hack I wish to carry with me for years to come.

So, when the kids I work with pass their driving test, I give them a present. In the bag is a seatbelt cutter/hammer tool, a small book on basic car maintenance, and a keyring that can fit a rolled up £20 note for emergencies. All useful things to have, and not very expensive
I heard that you can pull out the headrest and insert one of its posts at the edge where the window comes out of the car door. That kind of glass is much easier to break from the edge rather than the center.
That's actually is the most important part!! When you try to break the window. bottom left I believe...much easier than trying to punch through the middle. Plus there are a ton of gadgets out there to keep on your key chain. I bought each of my kids one when they started driving. https://www.amazon.com/RESQME-Original-Emergency-Keychain-Seatbelt/dp/B06Y2217F7/ref=sr_1_23?crid=2C8K6ZXA6FIUR&keywords=car%2Bwindow%2Bbreaker&qid=1642114237&sprefix=Car%2Bwindow%2Caps%2C230&sr=8-23&th=1
Load More Replies..."cut the seatbelt"? With what? Never thought about keeping a knife in my car. Guess i'll just die then.
The buckle becoming stuck doesn't really happen anymore because we no longer use the problematic style of buckles. Search "vintage gm seatbelt buckle" to see what I mean. The newer type where the button press is parallel to the axis of the buckle can be released even if under tension, the old kind cannot.

One thing I would add - strike the window at any of the corners - this is where the glass is weakest.
Also, the corners are the weak points on car windows. If they are struck there the whole window will shatter.
Actually they changed it to where you can break the side windows as long as you hit in the corner and not the middle, the glass in the corners are thinner and are made to shatter when struck, but the glass in the middle is thick and will not break
Also, many headrests can be taken off and the metal used to break the windows
If you don’t have a hammer, most cars you can remove the head rest and smash the window with the metal posts.
In another post, someone said swimming out the window was impossible and you meed to break the window to let in water and to get more pressure on the inside of your doors to open them, what is it?
The post might have said that it could be impossible to open the car DOOR because of water pressure on the outside. If you can't escape through the windows, then you'd want to let the car fill up with water to equalize the pressure. Then you can open the door. Of course, you have to hold your breath and try not to panic while you're sinking, but it can be done.
Load More Replies...With the level of technology that exists today, you would think that the electric windows would have a dedicated, water tight battery to operate them. It seems almost criminal that they don’t exist.
one thing they never say: the windshields are designed to be kicked from the inside, they can be popped out like this.
That depends on make and model. Modern cars tend to have the windshield glued in with silicone instead of clipped in with trim from the outside.
