90-Year-Old Czech Grandma Turns Small Village Into Her Art Gallery By Hand-Painting Flowers On Its Houses
Remember the little Polish village where every house is covered with painted flowers? Well, one 90-year-old resident of Louka, Czech Republic, is aiming to make her hometown just as charming and spends every spring and summer adorning window and door frames with majestic blue flower designs.
Anežka (Agnes) Kašpárková, a former agricultural worker, picked up the wall decoration hobby from another local woman who had been doing the same for years. Using vibrant blue paint and a small brush, she creates intricate floral wall murals inspired by traditional Moravian (southern Czech) artwork. Despite attaining both local and viral acclaim, she has insisted that her house painting hobby purely for pleasure. “I am an artist,” she stated to Czech media. “I just enjoy wall painting, and I want to help.”
Age really is just a number, especially when it comes to embracing your creativity. Scroll down to see this artistic old granny in action, and let us know if you wouldn’t mind her do your house decorations.

Just to be precise, in the Czech text she actually says "I am NOT an artist, I just enjoy it and I want to help." But she definitely is an artist, there's no doubt about that, I just wanted to correct the mistake :)
Its not about having your name on a piece of paper that makes you qualified. Its about having the capability of doing it that makes you qualified!
Load More Replies...Admirable old lady .. great to see article about an interesting person from my homeland!
I hope she lives long enough to paint all of the village and get an award for such beautiful initiative.
Just be careful climbing up those scaffolding Granma. You're art is stunning! I hope you continue having fun making them...
When she was a young woman she tried to emigrate to another country but was not allowed in. And so she was a cancelled Czech.
She would of been more than welcomed here in the UK with that talent
Load More Replies...More than her painting , I like her spirit which shines bright in shape of vibrant flowers. Her art is as beautiful as her soul.
This is so inspiring to see people regardless of age follow their passion.
Damn - this would be impressive coming from someone who is 21 or 31, never mind 91!
What a remarkable woman! That talent and ambidextrous as well! I just want to hang with her, hear her stories, give her a huge hug, be in such a talented presence...amazing!!!
being a painter it is not hard to use both hands. I always tell my students that.
Load More Replies...Love this grand lady's work. My grandad used to decorate houses and furniture, following the old traditional paint methods. A shame should these skills die out. Im trying to paint the odd piece myself. I'd love to be like this lady if I reach 90. My grandad passed away at 93, but he could still hold his brushes and even paint a straight line without a ruler ;-)
Better her doing it rather than some toe-rag scribbling graffiti all over it! But then in some places they still will after she had finished. scumbags.

For most elderly eye sight deteriorates but this woman has a good eye to detail! They even put up a scaffolding for her which again most elderly have trouble climbing the stairs. I bet her village are well proud of her. Her work will always be remembered. I am loving the colour on a white wall. It really stands out.
LA NONNA PITTRICE (AGNEAS KASPARKOVA ) ,NON E CECCENA, MA ,,CEKA,, DALLA REPUBLIKA CEKA (EX CEKOSLOVAKIA) !!!!!
I would love to meet her and invite her to teach me to paint my walls. I live in Eastern Slovakia, not so close but not so far either ;)
She can come and paint my walls (and teach me at the same time). I live in Eastern Slovakia!
I LOVE this style of art. I think it's BEAUTIFUL ! Bless you Sweet Lady
I have someone to be inspired to tryy and be like - I just love her !!!
She has brilliant eyesight for doing the exquisite and delicate patterns. As someone who has been disabled by old age, though much younger than she, I envy her tenacity and ability to reach the places she does. Brava Ms Anežka! Hope she receives our kudos.
May she be remembered forever in the beauty that she's created 💙💖💗💜💝😇
Please correct two errors. 1) You can say"grandmother" only if you mean a member of the family; if you mean it in general, you must say "an old lady". 2) The next error is more serious: instead of "the Czech Republic" use CZECHIA, please. And delete, as soon as possible, the expression "southern Czech"
How I wish I had the talent and the energy to paint the beautiful art on houses or anything for that matter. She is an awesome lady.
It is from South Moravia in Czechia, not from "southern Czech" Czechia-ma...ce78c1.jpg
The country is called Czechia. Southern Czech does not exist. It's historical land of Moravia, part of Czechia.
What gorgeous European folk art! Don't ever ever let that die out. Try to interest people in the current generation to take it up. And don't ever let that beautiful village architecture die out either. There's nothing romantic about highrises and you can't paint like that on ugly, soulless concrete.
Lovely work and reminds me very much of famous Canadian artist Maud Lewis who did the same thing but much earlier. She lived in a very poor and isolated part of Nova Scotia and did her painting on cardboard and pieces of wood as that is all she had. But she did paint her house. And it is just as beautiful and was bought and moved to the art gallery in Nova Scotia. She painted more animals and birds. If you would like to see it here is a link to the provincial art gallery exhibit: https://artgalleryofnovascotia.ca/exhibitions/maud-lewis-gallery
God, I can so see myself turning into her at her age or even earlier heheee.
It must be a very rewarding way to spend your late years in creating something so beautiful.
Wow! Just wow! I believe she got additional energy from her powerfull and magical sneakers
This village sounds charming! This woman is like a mobile Maude LEWIS!
Amazing, gorgeous, and what a wonderful way to contribute to your community.
