The temperature in Pheonix has almost reached a record-breaking 122 °F (50 °C) recorded on June 26, 1990, and it's becoming harder and harder to escape the insane heat. The flights are being cancelled, and things are literally melting.

Today it's up to 116 °F (47 °C), and 168 °F (76°C) on the concrete. To illustrate just how bad the situation is we have collected some shocking images of things melting in Arizona.

Do you live there? Tells us how you deal with such high temperatures.

no one who has ever experienced such heat would ever say that lol. I experienced this and it was the worst day of my life. I could eat I couldn't sleep, I could do anything. The only thing I did was lay down on the bathroom floor because the tiles were cool. In fact, it was so awful that I made my parents go back home (we were visiting relatives) just one day after arriving because I felt physically ill due to the hot weather. Yeah, no. Be happy with the weather you got, trust me.

I've been considering doing this in my van! It's black and holds the heat so badly, last week my Bluetooth thing melted off! I think it was around 28 degrees Celsius (prob doesn't sound that hot to those of you that live in really hot places, but cos we're not used to it here, it's a big issue) and the dashboard and steering wheel were too hot to touch :/

I've done that in Virginia on a normal summer day. Not impressed. Try frying an egg. :)

When I lived down there, I knew someone who used their car as a food dehydrator. Best raisins ever!

It's not that damned hot here. Cookies would take all freaking day & would probably go bad.

Good idea with you need them for a bake sale and you don't want to heat up the kitchen.

If you care about your car put a sunshade on the windshield. That sun is ruining the cars interior.

This is due to 'light refraction', and can be done all over the country during the summer. The glass acts to concentrate light on to the pan, where the cookies will cook. Its the same principle as starting a fire with a magnifying glass. Note that this works best the more the sun is directly overhead. Auto makers have already solved the problem with their tough plastics, from years of hard earned experience. Nothing new here, move along. 😜

They have cancelled or postponed flights in Palm Springs, CA also, same reason. It's not all that uncommon in Palm Springs.

It may have just fallen it, or it may have been drying out and needed to re-hydrate its book lungs.
