As we’ve mentioned earlier, taste is a very subjective thing. That said, bad fashion can still be defined in a pretty concrete way.
According to the general consensus on the Internet, bad fashion can be described as a style that sticks out like a sore thumb on a given occasion or environment or one that is considered horribly outdated and unflattering.
On the other hand, bad fashion can also refer to style choices that are overly flashy or serve as a means of obvious attention-seeking. And let’s not forget inappropriate or offensive clothing!
So, basically, if you’re looking to avoid a fashion disaster by unintentionally picking an ugly prom dress or an ugly homecoming dress, stick to universal fashion guidelines, and you’re good to go!

What Fashion Trend Should Not Come Back?
While recent years have shown us some excellent trend examples incorporating organic materials into everyday clothing and comfortable (finally!) shapes of clothes that do not restrict movement, there was a decade that was notorious for horrible fashion trends. Oh yes, we’re talking about the Noughties! Although some fashion trends were quite alright, there were trends from the early ‘00s that should never come back.
Here are some of them:
- Capri pants — not really pants, not really shorts!
- Low-rise jeans — inappropriate, horribly uncomfortable, and plain hilarious.
- Dress over jeans — it’s like they couldn’t decide which garment to wear, so wore them all at once.
- Velour tracksuits — nope, they weren’t fancy.
- Micro miniskirts — it was almost impossible to tell whether it was a belt or a skirt.
We’d also add those ugly sweater dresses to the list of fashion trends that should never come back. They were shapeless and oddly uncomfortable to wear! And if you’re looking for some truly horrible fashion decisions made during the noughties, search for ugly wedding dresses and ugly bridesmaid dresses that people deemed okay to wear during the early 2000s. They were truly shocking with their tackiness!

Make it about 12 inches smaller and call it a collar, and it would be almost wearable. In the 21st Century, women’s fashion should NOT be as restrictive as it was in the past. There should be nothing that keeps us from moving comfortably—-and safely (as in able to fight and/or run)—-through the world.
I like this one. Just imagine the wearer spinning to talk to someone at a party, drink held awkwardly at hip height, leaning down to try to get the straw in their mouth.
That happened to me when I was a kid I had on overalls, and I had my hands in my overalls. I fell forward and couldn’t catch myself I still have a scar next to my eye ! I could have lost my dang eye !

I think most fashion designers are just having a laugh and seeing how far they can go before someone says no.
That is absolutely the truth! Some of them are insisting that they are "creating Art" & a few have even admitted their designs aren't meant to actually be worn.

Many of these dresses look like stuff worn at fashion shows or big events. In other words, not for everyday wear. Still make me wonder about the designers, though.
I think these designs are from a bunch of rich artists and designers with nothing to do, so they make these "clothes" with the intention of making an art statement rather than making actual clothes you could buy in stores.
They do it for the free publicity -- and considering they've even got people on Bored Panda talking about it, I guess it works

The runway ones have been hilariously ridiculous for I-don't-know-how-many years now. Nobody wears those. I would be interested in photos of bad dresses people actually wore voluntarily (or which were spotted in a legitimate shop). But if we're going for runway dresses, these are nowhere near the worst ones.
I don't understand the objective of this post. Why should we be encouraged to shame anyone? Personally, I wouldn't ever want someone to feel ashamed, embarrassed, incompetent, or not good enough for something as trivial as the clothes they wore or made. Too many of us get enough of that in our day-to-day lives. Instead, the shame should be directed at BP for such a thoughtless post.
