“Incarnation” is a series of artworks created by millions of honey bees, in collaboration with artist and apiarist Joseph Farrugia. Humans have drawn energy and inspiration from honey bees for thousands of years and this primal relationship lays at the heart of this series. Joseph has designed and built his own modified hives to interact with honey bee colonies to assemble artworks. Each piece is an incarnation of the bee’s and artists environment. This is created in multiple stages by using the bee’s natural behaviors to add life to the art. Joseph’s latest work will be exhibited this April at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto (https://www.gladstonehotel.com/Grow-Op).
