They say that the best way to respond to hate is with love. True, but in these days of anonymous internet trolling there might be an even better option: sarcastic mockery. The latest trend among alt-right types these days is to present themselves as some kind of victim; where is my straight pride parade? Why don’t I get a white history month? What about an international men’s day? Completely missing the point that our entire social structure is skewed heavily in favor of the straight, white male. Do you really need those things to feel accepted and valued, snowflake?

The latest example of this pathetically insecure victimhood came from this Twitter user. Surely we are all being trolled? If so, plenty of people took the bait and the tweet was shared and commented on thousands of times. Eventually, it found its way to Reddit whereafter it was shared on the famous ‘Murdered By Words’ page.
Ironically enough, the very best takedown to this abhorrent tweet was by a Reddit user named GaydolphShitler. Yes, you read that right. Ol’ Gaydolph was having none of it and set to work with the sarcasm-meter set to 11.
The satire-laden response sparked an entire ‘glitzkrieg’ of derision, full to bursting with glorious punnery and homo-nazi wordplay, as well as some more heartfelt and eye-opening reactions. It always surprises me when straight people get their undies in a twist over something that's got nothing to do with them. Gay Pride month isn't hurting you. I think most are just offended because they think that to tolerate it means they aren't being a good Christian. Well you need to read your Bible better, Honey. Especially concentrate on the part of love thy neighbor, judge ye not lest ye be judged and let he who is without sin cast the first stone. If the only thing you do with the Bible is use it to find fault in others..I think you got more things to worry about in your relationship with God than a bunch of gay people prancing around in rainbow attire and sparkles for a month.

What was it like coming out straight? Did your parents disown you? I bet you were told to keep quiet at Christmas.... did your gay friends joke/not joke about just needing to find a woman to have sex with? Pride isn't about being better than everyone else, it is about normalizing a place in society. Getting over the assumptions about who/how a person sleeps with another person... it's almost funny how uncomfortable breaking those assumptions are, and how much some folks lash out at it.
A similar situation, yesterday I got into an argument with some doofus on Reddit who thinks men are being oppressed just because women actually have a few rights.
The thing I hate is that there are about 10 people on the entire planet who think this backwards, and they end up getting the most attention. Why can’t us sane people who can argue like human beings get a spotlight? Or maybe society could, oh I don’t know, collectively stop being stupid?

Being straight during Pride Month is like being a hockey fan when your city's baseball team wins the championship. Nothing to do with you at all, but you can still be happy for your fellow humans.
It bothers me when they compare the holocaust to most things. There aren't very many things as evil as trying to wipe out an entire race, and I don't mean to exclude the other races/groups they tried to kill off. You can compare someone like pol pot to the holocaust but not others that aren't even in the same ball park of evil like homophobes, the trumpster etc.

This whole thing is so dumb. I am a straight person, whom is also religious. Now I know the bible "says" that being gay is a sin and maybe it is and maybe it isn't. Here's the way I look at it.... I'm not God. I don't have any right to judge anyone. IF it's a sin in God's eyes, then it'll be addressed when we meet our maker. If it's NOT then no one has anything to worry about. I would never disown any of my children if they came out. I would never trade in any of my gay friends / family. So I feel like everyone needs to mind their own. If they don't like Pride week / month whatever, don't go. It's that simple. It has NOTHING to do with you....nothing.

As a straight ally I found this banana brain's tweet to be far more absurd than anything the Monty Python troupe could have concocted. I have plenty of friends and acquaintances who are LGBTQ, and none of them - NOT ONE - have any problem with me being cisgender.
I stayed with my husband in a B&B in a gay area of town. Our being a cis-het couple was a complete non-issue and didn't cramp anyone's style.

You know, I've always thought Pride Month was about celebrating all sexualities and gender identities, so there's nothing wrong with supporting LGBT+ as a straight/cis person. Saying this as a transgender/pansexual person!

That's not what it's about. It's a month were people on the LGTBQ+ spectrum can just be themselves. Remind the world that we exist and that there's nothing wrong with who we are. Your suggestion would be to just sweep us under the rug and pretend we don't exist. Historically, that hasn't worked so well. In the future, there may not be a need for things like Pride month, since we'll all be treated equally. Until then, we need things like Pride month in order to feel 'normal', since we're still oppressed, mocked, treated like freaks, accosted on the streets... forced into 'therapy', told we're all going to 'roast in hell', and of course, are persecuted and even murdered. Just for existing. Also: there is a Black History month, an International Men's day, and quite frankly, every day is 'straight pride'.
