Hockey Player Takes His Shot With Anna Kendrick, People Decide To Help With Hilarious Tweets

The holidays are wonderful because they bring out the very best in some people. Folks just feel that inner desire to help each other out and give a lending hand to those in need. Sometimes, it leads to some great humor when it’s a professional sports player who needs support.

Canadian ice hockey player Anthony Beauvillier tagged actress Anna Kendrick and sent her the word “Hi” on Twitter, which made the online community think that he was chatting her up. That’s when things got awesome.

Twitter users decided that the 22-year-old NHL star and New York Islanders player needed some help from them, and they became his wingmen by talking him up with over-the-top compliments.

Saving kittens from a hurricane? Check. Donating his kidney? Check. Buying someone a new computer? Check. Performing heart surgery? Check. It seemed like there was nothing that Beauvillier couldn’t do, according to Twitter users.

The hilariously wholesome thread went viral with more and more people wanting to pitch in and show Kendrick how awesome a guy the hockey player is. From fans of different hockey teams to former players of the New York Islanders, it looked like everyone wanted to make Beauvillier’s holidays special.

At the time of writing, Kendrick had yet to respond to Beauvillier, but we’re hoping that will change. Bored Panda reached out to both Beauvillier and Kendrick to hear more about the situation.

34-year-old Kendrick is best known for her roles in the movies ‘Pitch Perfect,’ as well as ‘Up in the Air.’ She’s also in Disney+’s original film ‘Noelle.’
Meanwhile, Beauvillier is seen by some as the New York Islanders’ most-improved player this year. As of August 28, 2019, he re-signed a two-year contract with the New York Islanders. On November 15 of the same year, he achieved the first hat-trick of his NHL career and helped his team beat the New York Rangers 7 to 5. We’re sure there are more great things to come from Beauvillier.

Here’s how other internet users reacted to the hilarious thread

Oh come on and give me a break all you doomsday sayers. It's cute, I had a good laugh, and no one is forcing her to do anything. When women gang on guys and drool over them no one bats an eye, but guys making OBVIOUS jokes, y'all are butthurt. Lighted up. It has nothing to do with patriarchy, entitlement, owning someone, pressuring into things and misogyny. It was a JOKE.

If anybody was wondering, she did respond. "These replies have been my entertainment for the last two days. Thank you all for regaling me with the true tales of this man’s heroism."

Since little, girls are taught to not make a fuss when boys fool around them. "He pushed you cause he likes you, get over it, it's nothing". This means women tend to deny bad experience. Meanwhile boys receive the message they are just nice, playful, funny and what they do will be dismissed. This is normal because "Boys will be boys". This means men tend to be blind where the limit from game to crying game is. This is how women slowly learn to accept boys' "playfulness" and men learn entitlement. Later boys are encouraged to seek sex, while women to "save" themselves, and is all oriented around male pleasure. All of this is common knowledge and proven thousand times. Another aspect of human psyche is - members of oppressed groups tend to disengage from their own group by trying to deny oppression and being harsh on their own type. This is a normal state of denial to be a constant victim. Women advocating for this, not just enforce and support all that c**p, they endanger themselves, their group and help the cycle of oppression to continue and thrive. You can see all of this for example in Brock Turner's case: he (like most in his situation) deny to be a rapist and blame it on anything else. He got the support of his father (20 min of action, not a rape). He got the support of his bro-circle (all of them wrote letters blaming all girls going to parties). He got the support of the judge (gave him a minor sentence). Etc. etc. etc. And finally he got the support of his mother - a woman advocating rape culture, who forgets she's a woman and have another kid who is also a woman and both are likely to be raped. Like all else is not enough, female advocates needed. Long ago I was stupid like this too. I was denying male cruelty, blaming females to somehow provoking their rapes. I thought it can't happen to me because I'm nice and carefull. I was in denial of being oppressed. I learned the hard way denying doesn't prevent anything. I hope you don't learn it this way. I learned that no matter what you wear, say, do, drink, smoke, go etc matters. I learned the hard way that no matter where and who is with you matters. I learned the hard way I will never be accepted in the bros club no matter how much I advocate, because bros are only male and I am not. It took me years to deny and blame myself and all females. I started collecting and reading stories. And yes, I am not longer that fun at parties, because I started to open my eyes (prevent rape if I see it), both men and women hates me now - men for ruining their fun and women for pointing out reality to them. Reality is: all starts with "cute and funny" but often ends with a crying game. Reality is: both genders don't know where the limit is. Reality is: men have a bro club who supports them, women doesn't have a sis club (we have false sis clubs of backstabbers). The best women can do is: take an example of men's bro club, patriarchy worked decades to destroy sisterhood and succeeded, time to take it back. Now go downvote me again, because real life made me no fun at parties :)

It's creepy. Men doing anything to help one another to get women. Because most men are entitled they deserve and must get women since they belong to them. The mentality of the wolf pack. If roles were reversed the woman will receive no support especially if she looks less than perfect. Now the downvotes from mysogonists are coming.
