Why would Pewdiepie call a far corner of the internet known by the title “Cursed Comments” "the very worst subreddit” out there, I wonder? Surely there should be many more reckless and vicious subreddits that refuse to abide by the rules of common sense.

Well, seemingly innocent at first glance, the subreddit Cursed Comments owns its name 100 percent. Why? Because, as the community’s description says, it serves a collection of “comments that strike the reader into oblivion, while leaving you speechless at the same time.”

Sometimes, it’s the blatant gruesomeness, other times it’s pure incomprehension, sometimes it’s sheer absurdity, other cases it’s all ensued hilarity. After all, it’s a reflection of all the communication happening out in the virtual wild west. Nothing is sacred, everything is kinda meme-like.

So we picked out some of the most ‘srsly?’ and ‘im outta here’ comments as shared by a whopping 2.7 million cursed members in the group. In the end, we are all more or less cursed, it’s just that the cursed ones already know it.

Psst! More cursed comments await in our previous posts here and here.

For any practical reasons it just makes sense to save your partner by real name. Otherwise, stuff happens like writing the bank on the loan extension and putting him into CC as "Butternut Sweety " or her as "Sweetest honey-baby ".

Antivenom that often has to be flown in from out of state, so you have to pay for the helicopter/plane/etc. and it's all covered under "pharmacy", is my guess. (Based on what happened when someone got bit by a rattler locally.)

We all know the US health care system is completely f****d up, but as a radiographer I'm stuck on the radiology part of the bill. Why did they get involved? Where the fangs still in there? Granted, we don't have many venomous snakes in Scandinavia, but I've never heard of anyone x-raying a snake bite.

They’re using the age-old strategy of keeping poor people down because they know we outnumber them significantly and could overthrow them all if we weren’t crippled by debt and illness.

In Sweden it would cost you about $20. Like a normal visit to the doctor's office. Maybe some extra fees if you stay over the night but still affordable, cost a fraction of a night at a hotel, waaaaayyy below 153.1k USD.

Sorry, let me follow that by saying "hard to think about" is NOTHING compared to hard to deal with and be impacted by. I cant begin to imagine how it feels to be in the thick of it. I realized reading my comment back to myself that it sounded a little patronizing. Not intended that way at all.

What American health system is trying to tell you is that whenever you get bitten by a snake, it's much better for you and your family if you die. I guess a funeral cannot be as expensive as this.

That's beyond obscene. I have several health problems, some of which I was born with and if I lived in America, I'd definitely be dead by now. Purely because I couldn't afford being alive.

Antivenom is very expensive and based on the pharmacy price they got a lot of it. Most likely their coagulation continued to be bad, hence lots of antivenom and lab tests to see how their coagulation factor was going. They were in bad enough shape to be in an ICU bed for at least a couple of days I'm guessing. They probably got some antibiotics too.

I've seen worse. Like a 23K charge for what had to be cutting the patient's clothes off (and wasn't actually needed in that particular case). Most likely this patient was insured as the hospitals here charge insured people significantly higher. It helps to make up for all the entitled crybabies that think they can just refuse to pay (or sue for ridiculous sums) and then wonder why costs are so high.

Now in the USA you can and have the right to contest these high bills and shop for hospital care that is cheaper. Hopefully no more monopoly On stick it to you costs! I always check the bill. And you should always ask for an itemized bill. Always. Look for things you paid for snd make sure you got it! One time i caught the time they asked if i wanted a huggy bear heated blanket. Said NO. Guess what was on my bill ? Yep the huggy bear blanket! Had that removed fast! Expensive sucker!

It's a real hospital bill. Antivenom costs a fortune per vial in the US and he needed several vials, plus antibiotics, anticoagulants,, pain medications, etc. This is what hospitals do in America.

The US healthcare system is terrible, but keep a couple things in perspective. This is not the final bill due the patient. It is a list of applicable charges the hospital can put down to start the negotiation with the insurance company. They start high and then negotiate to what the hospital gets and what is due the patient. Also at the time there was CroFeb an antivenin made by a pharmaceutical company based in the UK. They had the only commercially available antivenin in the US and charged $2,300 per vial. And average bite takes 4-6 vials to treat. Go look up a pic of this dude. His arm looks like he is turning into Thanos. I’m not saying it’s not high and it’s not “criminal” etc etc. but know what you are looking at. And for crying out loud if you think this would cost 0 in Europe go out and get a rattlesnake bite. I mean it’s free and the healthcare is amazing. What do you have to lose?

It’s true, a rattlesnake bite would cost money in Europe. This is not because of healthcare costs though - they would be free. Rattlesnakes are not indigenous to Europe. This would mean you would have to schedule a flight to the US, find a rattlesnake and get bitten, fly back home and get yourself treated at a hospital. This would still be far, far cheaper than actually being a US resident and visiting one of your local hospitals.

I can touch type - assuming all he did was switch the plastic keys and not mess with the wiring underneath, pressing A would still being up Q (assuming a QWERTY keyboard was the original). I'd just type him a nice, long email, while occasionally making and holding eye contact to show how unphased I am by his prank.
