In the midst of battle, I really don’t think any bigot is going to refuse to let a transgender person save their life. Or any other LGBTQ person. Or a POC. Or a woman. I mean, they could, but then they’d die. A Hobson’s Choice.
This entire assumption that gender, sexual orientation or other private, personal traits negatively affect everyone and everything around the "different duck" is one of the stupidest and most-backwards concepts that haters have created and nurtured over the past 50+ years. The complete lack of common sense it must take for someone to even begin to find truth in the concept is mind boggling. And if people lack the common sense to correctly assess something so obvious, the world really is becoming more scary by the minute.
My concern is that people who are transgender are at a much higher risk of suicide, and sending them into combat may be the worst idea ever, as adding a high risk for PTSD on top of that would send the rates soaring even higher than they are, in my opinion. However, if a trans person wishes to serve in the military, I salute them.
What I wouldn't give to see some of these trans-haters forced into a good hour of introspection to find out why they're actually so determined to hate people that have found happiness in who they really are...

If I were in the army I wouldn't give a fk who or what you are. I will be watching all backs and expect them to be watching mine. If i was rushed into hospital for major surgery and the only surgeon available was gay, there is no way im going to refuse.
What I don't like is a man trans woman athlete entering a womans sports team.
I kind of agree with this one. I'm all for people being trans and stuff but when a person is born a male regardless of their actual gender, it gives them a physical advantage in the sport. I don't think they should be forced to compete against guys but it takes away an opportunity for girls if that trans woman has that physical advantage. Even then I don't really mind if like, a trans girl plays on the girls soccer team in middle school but when it comes to professional stuff especially if related to college scholarships it shouldn't be allowed IMO. I'll say again I support trans people but it creates an unfair playing field :/

I'd trust a transgender soldier before I'd trust a bigoted soldier of any stripe. Won't see transgenders persecuting and assaulting imaginary enemies based on ignorance.
The entire reason is the same type 1 diabetics aren’t allowed in the military. In a combat zone medications like insulin and hormones may not be available. A shortage could cause severe reactions. Not everything is a phobic reaction. It’s as simple as that.
There are legitimate reasons to ban transgender troops in the frontline in certain situations, but it has nothing to do with trust. If someone needs to medication that can't be guaranteed in the situation, then it wouldn't be possible for a to be deployed there. Another possible reason would be based how the enemy would treat a soldier should they be captured. In some regions a captured trans soldier could be far more likely to subjected to torture or death, so the risk to them may be unacceptable.
The only thing that comes to mind is stupid...as in DJ and others like him took the term 'switching teams/swapping sides' to literally mean half way through they jumped to the other side, and in combat they don't want their people to suddenly stand up and run across the field and start shooting in the other direction, because I mean if you can't be happy with what you are born with, who is to say that you won't suddenly give up all your countries values, the country you were fighting for, because you know the other sides uniforms may be prettier and or they get better discounts at Sephora (all this of course is a joke, but honestly my brain just went straight to stupid and got this, because small minded people only think small minded reasons for anything, they do not understand this is the hardest decision anyone could make, it takes strength, integrity and a lot of personal value)
