Drivers Are Using Terrifying Reflective Decals On Rear Windows To Fight Against High-Beam Users
Some Chinese drivers are declaring war on tailgating vehicles with their high-beams on. The newest weapons in this road conflict are freakishly scary reflective decals, that are only visible when the driver behind activates his blinding headlamps.
Lately, these horrific prints are selling like crazy for relatively modest prices ($3-$18). They also got noticed by authorities. In Beijing, police officials say that it’s not illegal to have decals on rear windows, but such driver is likely to bear responsibility of accidents that result from scaring other drivers. However, Shandong police has a different opinion and is ready to fine these radical drivers for about 100 Chinese Yuan ($15).
What do you think about this idea?

Just make one that says "Turn off you high-beams, dumbshit!!!"
They need to make these to reflect the light back in the driver's eyes if they are following too closely.
No, I'm very sure that would just cause car accidents.
Do does following too closely
Only if you failed to back off. And if you are that dim upstairs, it would probably be a good thing to get you off the road, as you are an accident waiting to happen anyway.
Just what I was thinking! They'd certainly get the message then. I think it's more likely with these scary face decals that people will try and get even closer to the car in front, to see what it is!
"High beams" are not always the driver's fault. What I mean is that cars these days are made with those ultra-bright lights. My buddy always gets honked at, people flashing their high beams, etc., and he just has on the factory lights.
I'm on the People in the fronts side, having ridiculously bright lights being shined on you can inhibit your vision, not to mention coming from your rear view in the dead of night,I know the factory lights are very bright, the xenon lights on the low setting will blind me at night and it aggravates me immensely, nothing like losing your sight for a couple seconds while moving down the road
I have the same problem. I just can't understand how it's even legal to make cars with such bright lights. It's dangerous to be suddenly blinded by a pair of mini spotlights coming around a curve on a dark road, or having your peripheral vision obliterated by them shining in your back window and glaring off your side mirrors.
they may come out of the factory that way but they still need to be adjusted, just tilt them down slightly.
In that case he needs to change their angle. Takes 10 seconds from the driver's end.
he needs to change their angle then.
What model and what year is the car?
Maybe he needs to have them adjusted. Factory fitted lights shouldn't be blinding and may be wrongly set if they are.
I understand completely my sub has really bright lights. It don't help that I sit higher than cars. I have found that if I back off I don't bright light ppl. Just the people passing on my long curvy mountain road. Not sure how to help them though.
Properly aimed, really bright lights are not a problem. Have your buddy get them aligned.
What the problem is that people don't know how to adjust the lights. If you aim the lights toward the street and not straight ahead you light up more of the street and are not blinding the person ahead of you.
Understood... however, people who drive those vehicles need to never follow less than five car lengths away from the person in front of them. Actually, we all should never drive less than five car lengths away from the people in front of us.
5 car lengths? No. Only 2 car lengths or 3 seconds. Just got done with driver''s ed, and that is what is right. 5 car lengths and you get pissed off people who have to go around you.
Thatd doesn't work for the oncoming vehicles facing them, which is a far more serious problem, especially on undivided roads.
One car length for every 10 mph is the correct and safe distance to allow for quick stopping when needed. Three car lengths at 60 mph is not near enough
