Be a badass.
Left my abusive ex after 20 years and multiple broken bones and scars, started a business and home schooled 4 children during the pandemic.
It damn near killed me but success is better than revenge!
At age 17 I singelhandedly planned a heavy metal concert. I hired the bands, painted the posters, designed and cut out the tickets, booked the venue and sound guy and so on. Nobody had told me I couldn’t do it, so I did.
I quit studying and gave up my degree to help my dad pay my sisters university fees.
started my own little business, met my person, got married and 2 kids later, have never been happier!
Sister now has her MBA and is kicking a$$
not a single regret, would do it again anyday
Flew halfway around the world and adopted a baby. Also, I beat cancer.
I was in a minor role at the opening scene in a crime TV show. I got killed by one of the main characters. That's cool I guess.
Earned my associates degree at 39 and went back to school for my Bachelors at 40
Not sure this fits. Took a helicopter flight over Kilauea during an active eruption. It was phenomenal.
Helped resuscitate a half-drowned shark that had been caught in a set-net.
Being the boss of a whole department in a primate rescue centrum, having many lovely macaques under my care and training and managing three wonderful interns.
Sadly ut was an unpaid position and obviously they were exploiting me because I was doing the job of a worker without the pay. But it was really cool.
I was with my ex at the time and tickets for the show Hamilton were released in London for the first time (I’ve always wanted to see it!) So we booked the tickets, the show was a while away but I was just so happy I got tickets!
Fast forward to about a week before the show and me and my ex break up.. I gave her her money back for her ticket and I desperately tried to find someone to go with me to the show but no one was interested..
So here’s where my “coolest thing I’ve ever done” comes into it..
I have Aspergers, a form of Autism and it affects me in the way that I hate anything social and especially doing things, getting public transport or going places on my own, I get mad sweaty, disoriented and things like that.
The day came and I still had no one to go to the show with but for some reason on that morning I felt invincible,
I literally woke up and said to myself “you’re going to the show!” So I got up, showered and dressed and got the 30min bus to the train station which for most is not a big deal but for me was massive and then, for the first time ever, got a train on my own into London! One of the busiest cities in the world! I felt so good about doing it! I even went and visited Buckingham Palace before I walked to the venue of the show!
When I got to the theatre a lady who worked there asked if I was on my own which I replied yes and explained to her what happened and that I have the other ticket here with me and she told me that they would buy it back off me! So I wasn’t left out of pocket, I did the coolest thing I’ve ever done in my life and enjoyed every single second of it! The show was absolutely amazing too!
Ever since that day I have changed so much as a person for the better, I am so much more independent and I realised that sometimes you just to face fears to get the best out of life.
I crossed the border illegally. 14 years later, I am a U.S citizen, have two college degrees, and an amazing husband.
Stood completely still while a 2.5m boa constrictor chewed my hand and tried to strangle my arm. Luckily he eventually decided I wasn't food.
Thanks to KickStarter, I was able to get my picture into a soon to be released expansion rule book for 5th edition Dungeons & Dragons, modeling a magic item and standing next to a dark elf who is very clearly disappointed in her choice to go out with me. As a life long nerd, this may be the greatest thing in my entire life, past or future
Deliver a baby. No i am not a medical professional
Not as cool as others on this list but at my school football game, some little kids behind me in line were talking about what candy to buy. I saw that it was 4 bars of the candy they wanted for a dollar. I bought some and gave it to them and they were so happy 😊
Bungee jumped from a crane in Beijing... tandem with a Buddhist monk.
Was dating a guy that was in the military. We had, what I thought, was a great relationship. Turned out, he had a fiance back home in NJ. I went to track him down to confront him and was told he was in the local night club on the base.
You can't get in as a civilian unless you have a military escort. I explained my situation to three soldiers in line and they happily escorted me in. One of the soldiers, the only one of the three that was sober, asked for my number before I left. He called me everyday after that and we'd talk for hours.
Seven weeks later I married that man and I'm still married to him after 31 years! Best thing to ever happen to me!
Swam with otters
Got clean off drug 19 years ago, had some great kids prior but got a 2nd chance to be a real mom. Than I get to be a grandma to some awesome kids who I like better than their parents, lol. Meet the woman I get to spend the rest of my life wife, shes pretty cool. At the end the coolest thing is getting out of my own way.
Does stepping on a f*****g rattlesnake count? Otherwise I managed to import my oldest world in Minecraft onto a multiplayer server so me and my friends could play ion it
Me as an Egyptian teacher , after I had taught my class how to read and write in Arabic ,I asked them when they get home they must ask their parents to test them in reading and writing and if they succeeded they must be rewarded by having 5 pounds and they must tell their parents to buy them short stories to read them ,the next day a pupil's mother came and asked me where she can buy the stories. Thanks Allah.
Saved a persons life.
Besides coaching the births of 3 kids and 3 grandkids?
Setting up and firing Class B Fireworks for 20 years. Had a Blast!
Sat in the cockpit of a WWII vintage Supermarine Spitfire Mk. XVI fighter plane at an air museum when I was 7.
Night watch at the helm of a sailing boat, made the crossing of the Sea of Cortes at Baja California, Mexico. It was an amazing experience.
Coolest... could also have been the stupidest. When I was in my early 20s on my way to New Zealand to visit friends, I was in Fiji, SCUBA diving for about a week. This is a very long story but the jist is that I met a Swiss sea captain/shipwright with a 72 foot, wooden, Polynesian-style sailing catamaran that he designed and built. We got to talking about sailing (I had grown up sailing and had some experience but nothing of this caliber) and he needed someone to help him crew the boat to New Zealand. I sailed around Fiji with him and a French Canadian girl for a few days and decided to cancel my plane ticket to New Zealand and sail there instead. It took 14 days because we hit some doldrums. We stopped off on a desert island filled with sea birds and saw some amazing things while snorkeling. One day, when the wind wasn't blowing, we jumped off the boat and swam with some whales. We sailed into the Bay of Islands and it turned out he was wanted by Interpol and I was questioned for several hours by customs before I was let go. I never found out what he was wanted for and he never displayed any shady behavior that I saw, but obviously it could have gone very badly. Still one of the most interesting people I've ever met and one of the coolest things I've done. Now I aspire to sail around the world with my husband, daughter and sister in law. So far the farthest we've gone on our own boat is from San Diego to Catalina Island (about 24 hours non stop).
Got in between 3 pit bulls attacking my Dachshund. Picked her up and walked away.
Is a two for one okay?
Kicked out an abusive husband and refused to let him back, even after I found out I was pregnant with out second child. I have been raising two special needs children on my own for the last 8 years.
Rehabbed a juvenile racoon that had not only seen his entire family crushed on the highway but had a bad degloving injury on one of his front legs.
I saved my Boyfriend's life with CPR. It is the only time I've ever had to use those skills but I'm glad I was certified because the knowledge came back to me and kicked right in. The EMT's that showed up said I had done it all perfectly!
I hiked in the forbidden zone of the Montserrat volcano, the capitol city and towns around were in ruins. The area was off limits, but I spent 2 weeks exploring a place that resembled a science fiction movie.
Became Vegan nearly 5 years ago, on Christmas Day - best decision I’ve ever made X
I moved to South Korea for a year In 2016. Hands down the best consecutive year of my life. My sister was there as well and we got to explore every weekend and had an amazing time. I miss it so much.
During a 1980 tour with Roy Orbison, we were at Park West Club in Chicago. After Roy went back to the hotel, David Bowie came in. He was touring the Elephant Man and heard Roy was in town. I got to talk with Bowie over several drinks and had a great time. This will stay with me forever.
Back in the late 90s, there was a construction crane that toppled in Times Square, NYC. Police cordoned off all of times square to traffic to remove it safely. I was rollerblading to Central Park. I asked the officers if i could cut through and he let me pass. I did figure 8s, in an empty Times Square with all these NYPD Officers watching me behind the barricades. Once in a life time for anyone. this was pre 9-11...AWESOME!!
Be a Scarer at Six Flags for Fright Fest! It's so much fun!

Someone decided to bully people into eating poison ivy. Thankfully nobody cracked because I broke their nose >:D
Another cool thing is I worked at Nintendo of America and lived next door to Christopher Rush, creator of the Black Lotus card for Magic: the Gathering. I actually was privileged to watch him create Metamorphosis and Mana Flare one night while taking calls beside him (he was a game play counselor back then before the card game took off.)
He used to play D&D at our apartment and he would share art with us that was to become the next set of MTG cards. We lost touch after leaving the state, but I was also privileged to reconnect with him several months before he passed.
Got my associates in nursing 1981. Then 2010, went back for my masters in nursing,

I caught a bluebottle, in mid flight (with my left hand) and my daughter laughed and said i missed it. I threw the fly from about 6 foot away and it landed in her open mouth. Wish someone had a phone recording at the time...
The best part about this post is that it doesn’t matter what others think. It’s the coolest thing you have ever done and I love the posts
I CAUGHT A BALL IN GYM
used the most perfect combo on a higher rank player in dragonball fighterz ranked matches
and half the classes were on line. Self taught computer skills
Experienced true love. The relationship lasted four years and didn’t work out, but I still think about her 17 years later.
We keep in touch and check on each other every year or two.
I am happy knowing that I will never experience love on that level again because many people will never get that chance.
Obviously this is subjective but I am comfortable knowing that I am lucky. I hope to find another love that makes me happy at this point in life, but I dont feel the need.
I never gave up on finishing High School. I did it and graduated with a full diploma at 27.
Scuba Dived in Cancun and almost died because of it! I was diving a shipwreck about 85 feet down(technically deeper than I am licensed to do) and there was a really strong current.
As I dove down, I found with each breath I was getting a spritz of seawater(for obvious reasons, the regulator is supposed to be airtight.) As I reached the bottom, where you can't just bolt to the surface safely, I started coughing as the water burned my mouth and throat.
Eventually, the coughing got bad enough it threw my regulator out of my mouth. Desperately, I moved my arm in a huge swipe and managed to grab my regulator again, shove it in my mouth, and purge the water with an intensified stream of air.
Honestly, not just one of the scariest, but also one of the coolest things I have EVER done. Although 10/10, would NOT recommend almost dying on the bottom of the ocean.
Spoke up to a bully. When I was 13.
Bully: "Lol can't you speak?" (I stutter, still do)
Me: "Yes. I can" (was able to say that without stuttering too) Then I walked away.
Had a bad day. Quit my job. Moved to Australia. Learned how to scuba & surf.
Walked the Camino de Santiago from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port France to Cape Finisterre at the Atlantic Coast in Spain. Took me 2 months to backpack 840 kilometers, but I'm 65 and my little sister wanted her ashes at Cruz de Ferro, a large iron cross in the middle of the Camino walk. I'd never done anything like it before, and never thought I'd complete it, but she always believed in me. I met some fantastic people and found out I'm stronger than I thought.
I held a koala for about 15 min. The koala was so sweet and snuggly I wanted to take her home. She put her head on my chest and did a tight snuggle. Fur was so thick and deep, I couldn’t see my fingers. Loved every minute of it.
Helped rescue newly hatched baby sea turtles.
I am a car nerd, and I got to drive a 2005 Lamborghini gallardo from Santa Monica to Calgary Canada. By myself. Wide open roads. This was 2007. It was the most amazing two days alone I have ever had.
Removed my jacket on a snowy day.
I once defended my friend’s little sister from a dog that was attacking her. I came at it when it first bite her and I got the worse of the attack. I have a lot of trauma from this as the dog later ended up dead. But the sister is fine and that’s all I really care about.

I did an Osesshin, which is a traditional Zen meditation retreat. I've been intrigued by them since I was a teenager, but never thought I could make it through one, was scared about the limited sleep involved, among other things. But I went, stuck with the practice the teacher gave me, and ended up feeling fantastic by the end of the week. I've now done about 30 of them, plus dozens of shorter retreats and two months of practice at a Zen monastery in Japan.
Well, there were many cool moments, but I'll choose the one that lasted two months - a bicycle camping trip in California, with a hike to 12,000' high.
I fired a muzzleloader and got 1st place in the competition. Just a modern musket.
I walked about 5 miles with a broken back during a military operation. Still have back pains.
Road in a side-by-side with Colton Moore during Hayday. He took the big jumps three times while I was in the passenger seat during the stunt show. Wish I could post the video! It was epic!
Had some drunk college kid jump me after knocking of work. Lifted his bitch ass 3 foot off the ground and pile drove him into the footpath.
I won the Border Patrol Foundation Scholarship by writing an essay telling them how I cross the American border illegally.
I've saved 5 people' lives... somehow I have a knack for stumbling upon people who need saving... 2 gunshot victims, 1 old fella in a burning building, 1 older lady not breathing after a car accident and a coworker with Down's Syndrome choking on a grape.
