I am a young writer, and I know that there are plenty of others like me out there. But sometimes it is hard to get started writing, either because there isn't a good plot, or you just lack motivation. Share your helpful tips here!

When you get an idea WRITE IT DOWN no matter where you are. Also, create two documents: a brainstorming sheet and the actual story one.

Get to know your characters. Write separate pages about them. Favorite food, virtues/vices, name, eye color, hair color, age, just anything.

Just go with the flow. Put some music on and just write whatever comes through you. If you hit a roadblock, try going out and having an adventure, find some inspiration. Never forget to live, because you can't write if you don't feel.

Remember to write for you and not someone else. Don't be afraid to let your charavters grow into new people (they're like children in that respect). Write as many iterations of a scene as you need to. Get to know the world your characters live in and worldbuild lest they end up on a stage and not a set. Write scenes in whatever order you need. Get a digital writing organizer if you wish - there are even a few free ones (I use Hiveword).
