I'm the one that can completely oppose your standing on political matters, religion, sexuality and the rest of the list, and still be your friend. The one that doesn't delete you and everyone you know from Facebook just because you have a different opinion. I'm also the one that never discuss any of it more than to say that we have a difference of opinion and just leaves it at that. I look for other qualities.

I have a close knit group of friends. We’re all very diverse and an unlikely set of friends, but through thick and thin, we’re there to support each other. We have stranding dinner dates at least once per month.
On one particular date, Jan arrived a bit late and was clearly disheveled. She began venting immediately. Her ex was making life difficult for her… he hadn’t paid child support in several months, refused to help with daycare expenses, refused to pick up their girls when it was time for his visits.
Kathy joked, “I know a guy.”
Violet joked, “I am the guy!”
Jan laughed and continued the joke, “Thanks guys, but I don’t want to deal with disposing of a body.”
That’s when I chimed in, “I’ll get my shovel.”
Ceci added, “I think my shovel is in my trunk.”
Jan’s ex is alive and well… but ever since that evening, we’ve rebranded ourselves The Shovel Sisters. And anytime one of us completes a vent session, one of us always follows up with, “Should I get my shovel?”
