Since Christmas is coming, most of us are having a Harry Potter movie marathon. This got me wondering, what Hogwarts house is your favorite, and why?

Sorry for the short essay but, as a Potter Head, I've got to do this properly........ Slytherin is easily the most misunderstood house. Everyone things it's only pure bloods that can join. That isn't the case (the dark lord himself proved that). The house founder (Salazar Slytherin) was know for saying that he favoured resourcefulness, ambition, cunning and leadership. If you think of the time period he was around those words would have had a similar, but slightly different meaning. Resourcefulness=using what is available to achieve your goal. Ambition=working hard and being focused. Cunning=an old English term for intelligence and quick thinking. Leadership=Taking responsibility for others...................
Gryffindor, values bravery, daring, nerve, and chivalry. While these sound like good qualities, they are not really anything special, nothing to with academia at all, and nothing you can't get after a few drinks.................
Ravenclaw is all about intelligence, knowledge, curiosity, creativity and wit. Great qualities to have, for sure, but it seems to lack something. It prioritises learning over everything else, almost to the point of exclusion of other skills..............
Hufflepuff prefers hard work, dedication, patience, loyalty, and fair play. This covers the broadest set of skills and characteristics............
In summary, Hufflepuff would produce the best people, with a great work ethic, strong people skills and good morals.
I'd still pick to be in Slytherin though!
My favourite is Hufflepuff. My reasons; Hard-working, Patience, Fairness, Just, Loyalty and Modesty. Also, Cedric Diggory and Newt Scamander.
Hufflepuff!! We are always supportive and there for our friends!! Gryffindors always gat the credit for being loyal, but that's also a puff's main trait!! We are near the food, so midnight parties!! Hardworking, and kind, we can make friends in every house, even Slytherin!
As a Slytherin, I love the Hufflepuffs. :D My mother herself is the hugest Hufflepuff I swear (though not "officially sorted") she's so big hearted, she takes on so many peoples troubles. Though unfortunately this can lead to her neglecting her own troubles. :( But she's one of my favourite people that I look up to. :)
Mine is slytherin because they might seem like the bad guys but they fit my personality other than Gryffindor, and slytherin don't seem like walls, they actually show emotions

Hufflepuff, cuz it’s the house I am in, and it is very happy, I feel like, and welcoming

Five points to Hufflepuff! Can't beat being by the food, and having the reputation that makes people leave you alone. Y'all dunno if I'm awesome or lazy, and I'm fine with that. Leave me alone, I'm good with it. And the house animal, c'mon man.
Ravenclaw- DUHHH!! (its because i am in fact a ravenclaw myself... i guess that is a little biased but still. RAVENCLAW FOR LIFE!)
Hufflepuff. Hufflepuff is not so popular compared to the other houses, and Helga Hufflepuff included everyone to her house (if they wanted to join). Plus the common room is near the kitchen! And Newt Scamander. And kindness. And I'm in it. Next is Slytherin, because they are ambitious and determined to reach success, so what use is courage, kindness, and wits if you don't use them to reach your goal. But I don't like that Pureblood-only thing Salazar Slytherin made up.
Slytherin. Though I did have the option to choose Ravenclaw during my sorting on Pottermore. However, I felt that whilst I would do well in Ravenclaw as I love to learn, I felt I had more Slytherin traits. Slytherin gets a bad rep often, but we're not that bad at all. We can be smart as Ravenclaw's, as loyal as Hufflepuff's, and as strong as Gryffindor's. Sure we've had our dark wizards, but so has Ravenclaw and Gryffindor! I guess the only house that hasn't is Hufflepuff, those guys are just too nice!
Gotta go with Slytherin. Why would you want people to admire you, when they can fear you? You have more power that way
well im a slytherin so im afriad i have a slight bias toward them but lets be real, it's totally us slytherins.
(Pointing Elder Wand at throat) SONORUS! I am a perfect Ravenclaw current owner of the Elder Wand and am currently Year Two. Even though I am only year two I still know every incantation by heart. I got curious because I am only with other year twos and haven’t seen a lot of Harry Potter characters using BoredPanda. Only true fans will know what spells I am using here. I mean it’s pretty obvious the words but not many know what they do. If you read this comment Disney and you’ll get an upvote and Disney is my next “Hey, Pandas”. Have a Great Day. quietus

I am a Gryffindor according to the sorting hat however I think I have more traits of a Ravenclaw than a Gryffindor. Intelligence, acceptance, creativity etc I think the sorting hat placed me in Gryffindor because of my desire to possess the traits of a Gryffindor. Bravery, Determination, Nerve etc.
My 7 year old niece took two different sorting hat tests and got Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. I tried telling her she must be a Huffleclaw but she prefers Ravenpuff 🤷♀️🤣

An actual Ravenclaw would be smart enough to know that "Cunning" is far more of a Slytherin trait. ;) I'm joking btw before anyone gets offended. I'm a Slytherin myself and prone to sarcasm. Ravenclaw is my "second house" haha
i dont really have a house that I'm in but I would say that I'm mostly Gryffindor. my room is harry potter themed and I even have a cardboard cut-out of Harry, Ron, and Hermione. i also collect harry potter wands. i have the wands of Voldemort, ginny, cho chang, krum, Mr. weasley, hemione, and sybill trelawney.
Slytherin because... Draco is there and I may or may not have a huge crush on Draco.... 🤭
I asked a couple of friends which house they thought I belonged in -- one said Hufflepuff, the other Ravenclaw. Went to Pottermore and got sorted into Slytherin. Since Severus is my favorite character, I can live with that.
Gryffindor... Partially because I am a Gryffindor on PotterMore.com. and also, gryffins are cool.
