That is a robber fly. We have lots of them around, and they’re usually good pest control. They can deliver a pretty painful bite, though, as I learned the hard way when trying to catch one.

I'm curious myself, I've never seen one like this! We have little white puffball looking ones but they're more round and fluffy.

I’m no expert but if I honestly had to guess that might be a spider covered in white fungus. There’s a fungus that basically makes zombie spiders or something. That’s my guess

What I left out in my further explanation, was that I would see a couple of these in the spring, usually April. And saw them for years, but only during a very short span of time. That's why I think the white parts are parachutes. They pull off after they land and the little gray bugs ( with only 6 legs, lol) crawl away.

A further explanation. Until the leaf holding these bugs fell from the tree, I had seen the bits of fluff caught on various things in the yard. But I always tought they were a part of a flower that I just couldn't find. One day was just sitting under my maple tree and the leaf literally fell off the tree at my feet. See #11. It's a pic of the leaf as I found it. By the next morning the bugs were crawling away.

That’s definitely a cherry millipede. They secrete cyanide, and I’d recommend leaving them alone because they smell REVOLTING when disturbed.

If this was store bought potting soil, be happy you have mushrooms. This means the soil is healthy and rich. I have been surprized at little clusters of light brown mushrooms in a huge Mother In Law's toungue plant I have. I freaked out because it is right next to my bed and I thought GREAT! I'm going to die of inhaling Alien Spores From Hell and they name a wasting disease after me. But..am told, mushrooms growing mean your plants is very happy and they are good for the soil. I wouldn't recommend eating them, ever. You don't know what they are and you're watering the plant with tap water. There is stuff in the perlite and soil and fertilzer. Just, no. Enjoy the extra bonus Life and let it do its thing.

If you use a photo editor to view it in negative you can see a little bit of a possible second 'o' on wood. Spent about 30min googling stuff and came up with nothing 😔
