Trump calling covid the "Chinese virus". Yes, it was discovered in China. No, that does not mean that you point the finger at [us] as a means of blaming us for the virus. There have been literal racially-charged hate crimes and incidents against Chinese people and Asians in general in the United States and around the world because of the virus. It's sad.
The moral is: Don't blame an entire race/group of people for something, it's just wrong and frankly stupid.
The Spanish flu was only called that because they were the first country to report it in a newspaper. Most of the world was at war and newspapers were being heavily censored. If the war had not being going on at the time, it probably would have been called the American Flu.
