I'll start - I was once asked to represent our business at a black-tie award ceremony. Thankfully I was able to get a sequin dress for very little money at a super clearance sale. It wasn't actually fun.

So many fun parties to choose from, but I'll go with the surprise birthday party that my husband threw for me at a favorite local restaurant - huge turnout. That, or my 16th birthday where I planned the party, but my mom didn't tell me who she invited - including a crush of mine (he came) and some popular kids that I never thought would come.

The fanciest party I've ever went to was Governor Jay Inslee's inauguration ball in 2016. My father and him are friends and I was my dad's date. I dressed up in a floor-length Betsey Johnson ballgown (all black with pink tulle on a slit and at the bottom) and got my hair done. We drove 3 hours to Olympia for it in full attire and while we were supporting Inslee, we also got to taste catering from all over Washington state from some of the country's (and Canada's) most expensive and highly-rated restraunteurs. It was like a cross between Bridgerton and Gossip Girl, the environment and lavishness.

The funnest party? Honestly, and I've been to a lot of lavish and fun parties; but that was my childhood babysitter's wedding. We danced all night (I was 10 at the time) and the food was an endless supply of grilled cheese and tomato bisque. Even though we grew apart (and she is invited to my upcoming wedding), I feel like the most fun at a party I've had is when I'm supporting the people I love and celebrating with them. And eating comfort food!

This really awesome birthday party in 5th grade. My friend Tyler's house was by far the fanciest place I had been to. There was a nice pool, jacuzzi, and a whole lot of space. So what did we do?
We had a massive nerf gun war with basically half the grade, walkie-talkies and all.
Once the Vegas heat hit us, we just chilled in the pool for a while. Best party ever.

Most memorable was a party I had when I live in a trailer house in Wisconsin. Middle of winter. People were outside in their underwear having a huge snowball fight, guy was lighting shots on fire and drinking them, a guy showed up with a guitar and had live music, my buddy was letting people burn his body hair off with lighters, another colored eyes and mouth on a dish glove and talk to people with it till he used it to unplug toilet, friend passed out on another guy passed out using his butt for a pillow. Just to name a few things. Came out of my room in the morning to find at least 25 people passed out anywhere there was room! Two people on kitchen floor in front of oven! Looked a cult drank the punch! :D

Fanciest: went with my aunt, uncle, and their kids to my aunt’s grandparent’s house for Christmas because my mom left me with them for a weekend and forgot for a month. I think I was around 6yr old. Everyone dressed up and they made me wear a fluffy dress. The house was HUGE and decorated like a fancy department store. They were drinking eggnog and playing jazzy Christmas music. Toys and presents all over and a they had a mean chihuahua that wouldn’t leave me alone. I had to stay in the kitchen while they spend “family time” and after about 2 hours I got a cheese sandwich and a juice box while they ate Christmas dinner. Funest party? My husband and I threw a costumed Halloween party and invited a few friends. I dressed as a kitty, drank too much and at the end of the night, came to wearing a suit jacket and a tie. They weren’t mine. Then my drunken husband put his boxers in the sink and ran around tickling our friends that were asleep on the couch and running away before they knew it was him. Refused to put on clothes. It was hilarious. But also the reason why 19 year olds shouldn’t drink!

Sorta 80s counter culture fancy. Night out at First Avenue. New Years eve. Everyone dressed to the 9s. Snorting coke in the bathrooms, openly smoking weed on the dance floor/seating areas. I had red and green stains on my neck from wearing the bunting that fell from the ceiling whilst I was dancing. We had to move to get away from all the glitter I wore home that night. Good times, rest in peace. The kids are glitter free.
