What are some things you did when you were a kid and never told your parents about it?

#1

I used the "invisible ink" markers to write on the walls. It was mainly hate speech from when my parents wouldn't let me go on the computer.

Report

#2

Let's start with the fact that it was a long time ago. One of "What would happen if.." things you do out of curiosity. I might have accidentally shoplifted cheap earrings when I was a kid. Ok, I actually did it on purpose. Earrings I didn't need and have never worn in my life. My friend, or shall I say my partner in crime, got caught stealing her unnecessary item with me. I somehow got away, but I was very close to wetting my pants. I have never stolen a thing since.

Sorry, mom, you didn't raise me like this and don't deserve to know.

Please, don't call the police.

Report

Where do I beginn... I shoplifted make up and jewellery more than once, I drank underaged (no biggie in germany, my parents would still not have been proud), I snuck out at night to hang around with people they didn't like. Oh and I smoked weed at a birthday party

Report

I was messing with a bow and arrow that I got as a kid and I accidentally put a hole in the wall. Found some tape and paint the same color as the wall, stretched the tape over the hole, and painted it over.

When I was in 1st grade, I was in gym class. I left the gym to go to the bathroom and I ended up leaving to go to the bathroom at the same time as this other kid I hated. He was a boy and he kept peer pressuring me to go into the boy's bathroom. I kept saying no but he was peer pressuring me so much that I just gave into it. I knew that it was really bad but I was bad at saying no to people. Anyways, he threatened to go into the same stall as me but I kept telling him no and just walked into the stall and locked the door. He ended up crawling under the stall and did some not-so-appropriate things.
I should have told someone about this because I now know that this was a HORRIBLE thing he did. But, I just never told anyone..

So, uh... I've got a pretty bad one, one that's much worse than a lot of the submissions currently here (because most of the submissions are shoplifting or peeing in trash cans):

For the longest time, literally ever since I was 3 or so, I've had a rather dirty mind. Of course, when I was 3, I didn't know anything about anything, so I didn't do much about it other than draw people kissing or something. But when I turned 8, I started searching things up. I learned a LOT behind my parents' backs, and to this day, they don't know that I have knowledge beyond anything I could've been exposed to. Guilt has been eating me up about this for years now, and I still don't know when or how to break it to them.

My family are really close friends with our next door neighbors. My parents travelled a lot, so I spent most of my time there, even slept over on several occasions. So one day, my sisters and most of the family were all in the kitchen leaving me and their son in the living room. I was about 6 years old and he was about 10. Dude attempted to rape me, but I was pretty strong as a child so I managed to escape. I got so scared that I had to convince my parents to get me a self-defense teacher (kick-boxing). He kept sending weird and upsetting messages through my friends, until I went to college. All in all, I've been sexually harassed and almost raped about 3 times by unexpected people. I turned 18 a couple months ago, so I'm allowed to stay home alone with my siblings, which I am very grateful for. My parents still don't know about it, so his parents and my parents are still very close friends. I have developed anger issues because I bottled too much emotions in. My parents still don't understand why I'm overly protective and defensive of my siblings when we're around him. Sorry, this got dark really quickly🙂🙂

One time I asked my mom if I could walk my friend home and she said only if my other friend's mom (who was there too, we were all at the park and my house is like 1 min away) My other friend and her mom were leaving, but my mom didn't know that. Ended up walking my friend home, prank calling McDonalds and Dominoes. She tried telling me the way back, but I got insanely lost. I was crying and tried asking 3 different people for directions. One of them, a mom and her daughter in a car, came back and said they noticed I wasn't going the way they told me. So they drove me home. To this day, my parents have no idea this ever happened.

It all started at recess, and I saw my friends giggling and laughing, so I asked them, "What?" and they say, "You wouldn't do it, you're too much of a nerd!" And so I said, "While maybe I am!"

Caught them smoking cigarettes behind the slide.

When I was 2 my family went to Disneyland. My grandfather was watching me so my parents could go on Splash Mountain. My grandpa looked away for 3 seconds, and I had somehow gotten my head stuck in the gate of Haunted Mansion in those 3 seconds. A disney character ended up having to pull me out. It took about 2 hours to finally get my head out. I still have a scar on my neck from a scratch I got.

Untill I was 18 I've never told my parents if I liked someone or if I dated someone. It's all because I thought that I am too young to go into relationship. Anyway:
1. In kindergarden (I was 3 or 4) I fell in love with a boy and once when my mom left very fast I came to the room and saw HIM. I was so happy I jumped on him, we felt down and he hit his head on the floor and started crying. End of love story.
2. Later in kindrgarden I was dating a very handsome boy. We were sneeking to the toilet to talk and kiss. This is the longest relationship in my life so far - two years of kindergarden and for years of elementary school. I prayed every night to God to make him think of me.
3. When I was on a school trip with some older kids I fall in love with this tall gay. So we dated and I got a ring from him. Unfortunatly it was so small that I coudn't take it of and I panicked. I needed to brake it, so my love ended.
4. Then it happens - my super long requited love in secondary and highschool. But we just loved playing this love game. At the end of high school I decided that if we will never try we will never know. I asked him to date me. We dated for two months and I broke up because it was boring.

So yeah, my parents dont know about any of it and I still think that I was too young to too immature before 18 to be in a relatinship.

I was -and still am- a very big nerd and teachers pet when I was in 7th grade. (I'm in 8th grade now) I would get bullied a lot by other people for it, get told by a lot of people that I was annoying and too loud for a girl. I told my parents about it, and my friends and I (who were experiencing the same things) talked to the teachers and then everything got "sorted out". Sorted out basically means that my teachers told the boys that it wasn't nice, and that was it. They had physically hurt us and verbally hurt us. They didn't even have to write an apology note. Things never stopped. I would go into the bathroom and cry. Then, one day a boy slapped me on the butt. I blushed and tried to act like nothing happened. I have never told anyone about this. Not my teachers, not my parents, not even my best friend. I wouldn't tell anyone because I was afraid that they would tell me that they were just being boys. I now avoid all conversation with those boys and won't even go close to them. I now regret telling my parents. They could have helped me. If anything like this happens to any of you, tell your parents or a trusted adult. They can help.

I stopped when I was like 9 or ten, and I had to force my brother to stop doing it too because I didn't want to be a juvenile and live with that guilt. oh, and when I was 12, my parents would take my phone and IPad away, for no reason at all. so, I would steal it from them all the time and get into a ton of trouble. I shoplifted. Aside from the fact that we were pretty poor, there were things my parents, particularly my mother, wouldn't let me have that I needed. Things like razors to shave (at 15 my mother didn't think I was old enough), tampons (I was supposed to use pads, which are nasty), and deodorant (I was supposed to use my father's???). It went on until I got my first job and could afford to buy my own stuff. And then I had to hide it....

I was a good kid growing up in the 70's. At around 8-9 years old, I got $0.50 allowance per week to clean my room and load and unload the dishwasher. One day my mother paid me $1.00 to wash the walls in the dining room. I spent hours on it and was very proud of earning money I could fold. My friend and I decided to ride our bikes to the nearest market (about 3 miles away, we lived in the suburbs) and buy some candy with my money. When I got to the cash register my dollar wasn't in my pocket. It must have fallen out along the way. I cried all the way home, but didn't tell my parents because I was afraid they would never trust me with that much money every again.

A few years ago when I was in Eighth grade I had this freind lets call her Eileen. Well my dad overheard me and one of my other friends talking about how she did "Witchcraft" (legit all she did was collect crystals and make protection bottles I later started collecting crystals too tho) So, my dad never let me hang out with her. But, because he had never seen her face we came up with the plan that i would say i made a new friend named Delilah and i would introduce my dad to Delilah. We literally did this just so we could go on Platonic dates to the Library and to the crystal shop in town. Anyway, It worked because we never hung out at each others houses so our parents never met. Pretty smart actually. Well those Platonic dates turned into real dates. until she moved away a year and a half ago :'(

Eventually, I made my way to the campfire, and nobody was there. I started freaking out, because I was worried that they'd left me. I was doing homework in my room with my best friend and she started burning (for fun) some pieces of paper inside a small trash can. Suddenly, a piece of cardboard that was also in there caught fire and soon, everything else in it. We tried picking it up to put it outside, along with all the smoke it was making but it was made of metal and too hot to hold. She panicked, running around the room, not knowing what to do until finally, she sat on it (wearing jeans). When we were able to pick up the trash can, it was stuck to the carpet underneath, it had melted! My dad was worried about the smell and knocked on the door so my friend quickly threw all her books on the melted patch. Suspicious but satisfied we were not smoking something weird, my father let us carry on. In the end, we had to cut out the melted carpet and then prune the entire wall to wall carpet to even it out. No one ever noticed.

Stay in school, don't do drugs, eat your vegetables (except Brussels Sprouts), fire is not a toy, knives are also not toys, say no to strangers, and wait until you're at least 18 before introducing the birds to the bees, safely. Oh, and never stay up more than an hour after you're supposed to be in bed. When you're an adult, you'll regret those hours you lost as a kid. Also, sleep is the best.
