Embarrassment is something we can't avoid so why is it something that causes such discomfort when thinking back to an incident?

I personally have two:

1) I used to work work at my friend's record store. They had a friend that would drop off their teenage daughter so my friend could babysit her while he went to the bar. She was a total brat and was unnecessarily rude to me because she felt I took her job because my friend would have her help out sometimes just to get free work while they were babysitting her for free. Her and her friends often would come in and stare at me and whisper amongst themselves. Her nonsense was starting to really get old. Well I never met her Dad before and he came in to the store and I had been griping about how the teenage kid was bothering me. I thing I groaned after saying her name or something. And he gets this really scary look on his face and starts to go off on me. He then says he is her father! I want to crawl into a hole every time I think about it!

2) I used to work at a thrift store and there was this guy that was felling asleep on the couch. He had said some creepy stuff to me and red flags were going off. I had told my coworker about if we should do something about this creepy guy and she goes, "that's my father". I felt so bad and had no idea what to even say after that.

Before i was a goth i went through a brief super girly ‘kawaii’ phase of wearing pastel colours, pink, candy coloured plastic jewellery and retro 90s my little pony t shirts 😅 as a goth im the complete opposite and absolutely cringe at it now and have destroyed all the evidence 😬
