Hey pandas, what do you think should have never been invented?

Fake pockets on pants. Those things are annoying, AND useless. Upvote if you agree.

Well, thank the Germans, they discovered nuclear fission, we just made the first one, but we weren’t the first people to try (we being America)

An archaic idea that may have seemed appropriate in the 18th century but makes zero sense in the much more complex 21st century.

I realize the irony of this as I post this, but social media. Particularly Twitter, but I think that Twitter has done harm to society by harnessing the worst parts of people. Bully campaigns because a person has a view you don't like, a religion you don't like, or a race/sex you don't like, rage without end, and those tweets gets quoted and replied to, and people have become more polarized than ever. Polarized to the point that if you don't agree, then your "silence is violence" and so violence is justified against those that dare disagree with your particular brand of groupthink.

There is some sense to that, but social media has also allowed people to talk with their friends and connect with other people. I suppose the problem is not that it was invented but that people misused it. In it of itself, it's a good invention. I agree that people have done a lot of bad things with it and that's really sad. Bad people sure can ruin a good thing.

Great for pranking people though. Buy a furbie and hide it in someones room, backpack, etc. Leave furbies everywhere in random places and let the fun begin. Yes I am very, very evil.

Well, some animals do need to be cared for on a farm. Like sheep for instance. They actually need to be taken care of and sheared regularly because their wool never stops growing. (Search Shrek the sheep). Do you mean killing animals for meat on farms? Certain animals can be kept on farms and used to create products without harming the animals themselves.

styrofoam for sure i get that its useful somewhat but do you know how bad that stuff is for the environment like it literally does not decompose and if you try to burn it you can kill yourself with toxic fumes... so it just lives forever. not okay.

Private health insurance (and, by extension, unregulated capitalism). I think it's utterly immoral to profit from the suffering of others, and all health insurance companies make billions denying patients proper health care. Disgusting.

It takes up storage and does have bad effects sometimes, but it can be useful and at least you can delete it. I can see why you would think that. :)

One reason why student debt was able to rise so much (at least here in America) is that the government started loaning students money to pay for college instead of having them pay it themselves upfront. Sure this was a nice idea, as students who weren't able to afford college were able to get it now, but it also meant universities could continue to raise and raise prices and students would still go to their schools even if they couldn't pay right away. I'm sure you can see where that led to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTjnpJvZrwM

Covering up an unnecessary comment here! I don't think everyone gets that some things weren't exactly invented, but it still doesn't mean that they should exist. Not trying to be rude, sorry if I offend you.

For me I'm not going to say I'm addicted to my phone but when I'm bored or don't want to do anything I turn to my phone, I always get annoyed with myself. So I try to see a phone as a convenience, I instead of going on a long journey to answer our questions we can Google it, but I do j destiny what your saying phones do have their ups and downs

I disagree, but I can see why you would think that. A lot of people (including me) find a lot of happiness in it. No doubt some people misuse it and hurt others or themselves, but that doesn't make religion in it of itself bad. It depends on what religion you follow and how you follow it. I follow Christianity, and while a lot of people misuse it, true Christianity is a wonderful thing. It seems like you've probably seen mostly the bad side of religion, and I am truly sorry about that.
