2. foooood!! my bunica (Romanian for Grandma) has her own recipes for cabbage rolls (sarmale; sar-mall-aye), and pancakes with jam in the center (no idea what it’s called sorry), and SOUP!!
3. The tallest wooden church in the world is found in Romania.
4. The Romanian language is 1700 years old.
5. Romania technically has faster internet than the US.

Also a few weeks ago I wore a Romanian soccer jersey to school and I felt so proud! :) thanks for coming to my TED talk have a good day!!

I always loved the sound of Romanian, I had a couple of Romanian colleagues and it really sounds awesome. Also with Spanish and Catalan we had a lot of words in common.

Spain.

We have five official languages: Spanish, Catalan, Galician, Aranes and Basque. They all come from Latin except Basque that is a pre Indo-Europeanen language. So it is extremely old and predates the origin of Ancient Greek, Latin or Hindi. Those three languages are closer to each other than to basque.

We (together with Portugal) have an amazing history and gastronomy because of how many cultures shaped us. Celts, iberians, Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Tartessos, Romans, Germanic tribes, Berebers…
