Lately, I have really wanted to take care of myself, so I came on to bored panda and I'm here to ask you for your help. Any kind of help would be nice whether it's motivation to do something or ways I can get myself to do something. Either way, I would really appreciate the help, thanks!

I like yo make lists of what I should do that day. I even put small tasks like get dressed, brush my teeth, because then when I do them I feel more accomplished and confident that I can do larger tasks too.

It's the small things. Get out of bed. Get dressed. Brush teeth or hair if you have it. ( I'm bald. Like real bald:) I forget who said it but make your bed. If your day turns to s**t at least you come home to made bed. It makes sense.

Just think of what you like about those things. It's better to eat nachos than not to eat at all. It's better to have 3 showers every day than not to take care of yourself at all.

With regard to eating, food can be horrible or it can be one of the most amazing pleasures in life. Try everything. Go outside your comfort zone. I was raised in a very conservative Western household with cereal for breakfast, sandwiches using supermarket break for lunch, and boiled potatoes + boiled vegetables (to the point of mush) + a piece of steak if lucky. I was taught to fear anything "unusual" like fresh salmon (we ate salmon out of a can, though), mushrooms, or shellfish.

Then I pushed myself into a situation that was uncomfortable and lived in an Asian country for 3 months. For the first week I was afraid to eat the local food and ate only KFC and McDonalds. I then realised I couldn't keep doing that, so started to eat the local food. After a short time I was like "Wow, what have I been missing out on!". I couldn't get enough of the local food after that, and after I returned home I refused to eat the food my mother cooked and learned how to cook the cuisine of the place I now thought of as my second home.

Food is wonderful. You just have to find the good stuff. And it doesn't have to be expensive. Just fresh local vegetables and seafood cooked simply can be amazing.

I would really like to know how to edit my posts to remove the spelling mistakes I missed. Doh.
