The things we take for granted daily....Happy hearing

The ‘Heck this is wholesome’ Facebook group had over 590k members at the time of writing. And we’re pretty darn sure this number’ll keep on rising. The pics and memes are just too good not to draw in a crowd.

The online community is a reflection of the side of life that some of us forget in our day-to-day routines. Namely, that it’s full of beauty, laughter, cute animals, and people being excellent to each other (not just jerks). And that’s something we think everyone should be able to celebrate.

Professor Degges-White, from Northern Illinois University, explained to Bored Panda that human beings are very complex. We have to be able to express a range of emotions to get the most out of life, not just a limited few.

“A funny thing about humans is that we all have a negativity bias, meaning that we attend more to negative information than we do positive. That's why a single piece of ‘constructive feedback’ will linger in our minds longer than a dozen compliments,” she said that people tend to focus on the bad more than the good. It’s simply how we’re wired.

My husband has a tendency to move slower on the weekends, and knowing we had alot of errands to get done, I went into the store looking for him, annoyed.

I found him, reading ingredients to an elderly man and helping him calculate ratios for what he needed, because he couldn’t do it himself anymore. And listening to him tell stories of his acres of land nearby.

I forgot about errands, our time crunch, our tasks…and thought man, if we could all just take a little time to help eachother with just the littlest things, how good we would all feel. And remembered that I snagged a good one

You legit never know what someone is experiencing and just spending a few minutes with them could possibly save them.

I was at the grocery store and an elderly gentleman asked if I knew where the black pepper was, I turned my cart around and took him to the aisle, and pointed out the different options. It only took a moment.

“It's thought that it might be evolution that supported this somewhat irritating habit of looking for the bad, ruminating on the negative, and focusing on flaws,” the professor mused about why human beings have a negativity bias.

We also wanted to better understand the role of anger in people’s lives. The professor said that it definitely has a place and can even lead to some positive results! However, prolonged and high-intensity anger can do the opposite and lead to a lot of negative outcomes. Your body will suffer as a result of all the stress.

“Anger, like other emotions, is felt differently and at different levels of intensity depending on the person. Some people do go through their lives in a state of constant anger when they are tuned into the innumerable injustices that exist!” Professor Degges-White drew attention to the fact that life can often seem unfair.

“However, when anger is a constant state, the body suffers greatly—being primed for an angry response keeps the body tense and the stress hormones flowing,” she warned that people should do their best to avoid living in constant outrage at injustices. It’s a quick way to wreck your health.

My husband noticed that no one was eating the oranges. I said that I think I subconsciously avoid them because I have eczema on my hands and peeling them hurts the little cuts. The next day this was in the fridge. He proceeded to peel 6 oranges for me every Sunday to last the week, and has continued to do so (when I want oranges). I never asked him to. I don’t need anything fancy. To me this is love.

Amie Hanson Report

“There are definitely ways in which anger can motivate us in good ways, but it takes a toll on our bodies as well as our relationships. When someone is always spoiling for a fight, it is hard to find a way to connect and deepen a relationship in healthy ways,” the professor told Bored Panda.

Butterflies can’t see their wings. They can’t see how truly beautiful they are, but everyone else can. People are like that as well.

“When we are up-in-arms about a cause, we love to bond with others who share our views, but humans are much more complex and deeper than a single issue, so we need to be able to experience and express other emotions if we want a meaningful, enduring relationship to develop.”

"I was waiting for my prescription at Walgreen, and I noticed this man is picking up his medicines.. He is asking how much they are, and starting to get nervous about the price. The total was $170 and the pharmacist asked if he would rather only get one month of his medicines instead of 3. “THIS lady next to me, walks up to them and says: NO, he is getting all three months and pays for his bill. I was walking out of there with tears in my eyes, what an amazing woman…”

"The most popular things in the group are animals and kids, but there's pretty much everything that makes people happy and/or boosts their creativity," she shared with Bored Panda about her previous group earlier.

"Our community is really wholesome. Just like the content in the group. Getting this big wouldn't have been possible without them. The members share such amazing and wholesome stories, we constantly make each other's day,” she said, adding that the moderators and administrators put in tons of effort to keep the community running heckin’ smoothly.

The ‘Heck this is wholesome’ group is about posts that make you happy. It’s about clean, wholesome fun and being positive towards all the other members of the community.

I noticed quite a few people enjoyed my post about my dog Tuesday so I thought I’d let you know why I chose the name Tuesday. I’ve had pretty amazing luck with dogs. My first dog’s name was Charlie. I never had to teach Charlie anything. He always had this ability from the first day I got him to understand me. He dedicated his life to being my best friend and protector. I have cerebral palsy so I use a manual wheelchair. Several years ago I had severe health issues and spent a long time in the hospital. Around that same time, and perhaps feeling my struggle Charlie got sick. I have a wonderful vet and we did everything we could but Charlie passed away due to kidney failure. It’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever been through. I wear a necklace everyday in honor of Charlie. I didn’t know if I’d ever get another dog but i eventually decided to do it. I didn’t want to name him Charlie or Charlie Jr because to me there will always be one Charlie. So I settled on the name Tuesday because Charlie was born on a Tuesday and I like to think he would be okay with that name. I hope this isn’t to upsetting for this group but I thought I’d share a picture of Charlie and I a couple years ago. Hope this story is one everyone can connect to and thanks for reading if you have time.

A father on facebook has moved the networks after writing on his account:
"The hardest thing about being a single dad, is going to the restaurant with my beautiful daughter, and she tells me she wants to go to the bathroom and I go with her to the bathroom and people stare at me strangely, she is my daughter and I have to do it because I will always take care of her, I will not send her alone. How hard it is to leave her every time I go to work far away and she stays crying screaming at me, she makes video calls and tells me where I am to go with her. I love my daughter and everything I do I do so that she has a good future and does not lack what I lacked at her age. I love this little girl, may God bless her a thousand years and lives more."
Not all men are the same, some know how to love, respect and even be fathers alone.

This isn't real. The honey mushrooms in Oregon are the world's largest living organism, but all beneath the soil, apart from the fruiting bodies, which are small, normal mushroom size. This is a fancyius photoshoppius.

Aaah, smart *pointing at head meme-style* That's a long time plan. Being awake at night, find the best partner, marry them, then share the sleepless nights during the baby years. Brilliant. 👍
