Game Of Thrones Hid 6 Thrones Around The World For An Epic Scavenger Hunt And 2 Are Left To Find
266Kviews
If there’s one thing that Game Of Thrones probably doesn’t need, it’s more publicity. The world’s biggest television series is nearing its finale and people can’t stop talking about it, everyone knows what it is already! Even those of us who don’t care can’t help but catch the gossip about GoT at work, on the street, or among friends.
So while HBO doesn’t have to resort to publicity stunts to create a buzz for Game of Thrones final season, if they are going to anyway, they may as well make it a good one. With this epic, global scavenger hunt to delight the traveler in all of us, you gotta say they have succeeded!

Throne of the forest, United Kingdom
Throne of Valyria, Brazil
Throne of joy, Spain
Throne of the North, Sweden
Throne of ice, unknown
There’s also a mystery throne that will be revealed once someone finds the “Throne of ice”
Because if there’s one thing we all love, it’s a treasure hunt. From Easter Egg hunts to those Monopoly things they used to have at Mcdonald’s, nothing gets people more excited than a game of hide and seek. HBO decided to take the concept to the extreme by scattering 6 Iron Thrones in secret locations around the world, offering tantalizing clues in hour-long, 360-degree videos of their locations. One is in a forest, and another appears to be in a desert somewhere. There are also a couple in icy locations, with very few landmarks around which could help to identify the area. Imagine stumbling across one, without knowledge of the show or any context?
So far, four thrones have been found; In Sweden, Spain, Brazil, and the UK. That leaves two still out there somewhere, including one of the icy ones. Some people think it’s somewhere in Canada, but my guess is Iceland.

“For seven seasons you’ve watched characters lie, bleed, and sacrifice for the Iron Throne,” HBO writes about the challenge. “As the final season approaches, only one question remains: How far will you go?”
Swedish photographer Jonathan Vitblom, from Kiruna in Northern Sweden went very far to find one of the Iron Thrones in the Swedish wilderness. “I saw the videos on YouTube that they had put out thrones in the wild and I was extremely familiar with the surroundings of the throne placed in the North,” Jonathan told Bored Panda. “But I couldn’t really believe it was up here until I saw the first person who found it uploaded a picture of it, and then I was 99% sure that I knew exactly where it was.”
“So we packed our equipment, outfits that are appropriate for winter in the north of Sweden and then we jumped into the car and had a 1-hour car drive till we reached the location. When we got up there, I wanted to make sure that the throne really was there, so I took my drone and flew up to the plateau that I thought it was located at. I spotted it almost right away because you could tell that a big throne doesn’t belong up there on the mountainside!”

Am I really the only one on this planet who didnt saw got?
nope
Nope I haven't seen a single second of the show...
Its too violent imo. Would be better more fantasy creatures, less decapitated heads.
Then read the books...
I haven't watched it either..and I had the chance..just never got around to it. When i heard there were dragons on the show, i nearly caved and watched. 🦕s are cool..except for their breath. Nope, that's a dinosaur..🐉phew!
I actually know George R.R. Martin and have only watched the first episode of season 1. I was buying the Bluray sets but one of my kids kept stealing them to sell for pot money. I must have replaced the first 3 seasons of GoT and Walking Dead before I decided to just give up until he was out of the house for good. Contemplating trying to do a binge-watch challenge to see if I can get through everything before the finale airs.
Don't get the channel.
didn’t *see
Yes, you are very special ( ;´_ゝ`)
No, I haven't, and have no interest in watching...
Once you get past the incest and violence it is a great show
@bill — you’re right. It’s a well written tale of betrayal, family and a little dwarf.

you're not alone; I have no idea of what it is about and I have no intend of watching anytime soon :/
How can you decide if you don't even know what it's about?
It's all fun a games until someone takes the chair home
Or someone loses their head or a hand.
I can't imagine someone picking that up..it's a LazyBoy on 'roids, not some stool on free day. Aha ha ha, I see what you did there...fun and GAMES..you're a 1 man laugh riot.
There was one found in Tumbler Ridge BC Canada.

I live in BC but that's a 13.5 hour drive for me :'(
I've been in a car for 3 whole days once, and five
That must've been the fifth then..I guessed correctly, from that photo alone. Do I get some sort of consolation prize? Maybe a years supply of Rice-a-Roni, perhaps?
