Here Are The 11 Photographers That Won The Prestigious Hasselblad Masters Awards Of 2018
One of the most prestigious photography contests in the world has announced the best photos of its 2018 competition. The Hasselblad Masters Awards are held once every two years, selecting the very best photographers in 11 categories. This time, the photo contest attracted 31,500 entries (175% more than two years ago), receiving some of the most stunning pictures from across the world.
From intimate portraits to otherworldly landscapes, the contest awards give acclaimed professionals, as well as aspiring newcomers, the opportunity to leave their mark in the world of photography art. The winners will be named Hasselblad Masters, become the ambassadors of the famous Swedish name for two years. They will also receive invitations to participate in its projects, medium format Hasselblad cameras, and their work will be printed in the Hasselblad Masters book.
“It really struck me how progressive many of the entries were this year and how far the entrants were willing to push the brief,” jury member and professional photographer Tom Oldham said. “These were the photographers who caught my eye – the ballsy, out-there risk-takers who make compelling pictures that refuse to be ignored. I’m proud to have helped to get this great kit into their hands – their creative photography skills deserve it.”

These are my favorite type of posts on BP. Wildlife, Landscape, Architecture and Art categories were particularly breathtaking.
The girl at the Nathan's Hotdog stand looks like she came straight out of the 90s.
I don't see a single picture in this group that I don't like very much! They're all great, each in their own way!
Those pics are nice, but what bugs me is that they're all obviously photoshopped. The sky is never this kind of blue, in the urban/street category.
The pics haven't been photoshopped; The Hasselbad contest strictly forbids entries that have been PS'd with. A good photographer can use the current light conditions, settings on their camera, current surroundings (light bending), and time of day, to create almost any effect that you could come up with. It's definitely something that has to be practiced; not many amateur photogs can do it effortlessly. Sometimes you get a great shot, sometimes not =)
Load More Replies...Sadly disillusioned. Yes some of these images are stunning and excellent photography, especially the portrait, wildlife and wedding categories. The aerial category is a joke, those photos don't even look overly Photoshopped, they simply look like digital creations, do not look remotely real. The art category is much the same, as well as the street category, completely artificial and digital, which is rather sad. Kudus and deep respect to those photographers share their talented work with us, but I cannot respect any photographer who pass off digital images and images so intensely Photoshoped that they no longer appear remotely real.
So beautiful! The landscapes are my favorite!! But every single one is amazingly beautiful! Well done!!
Very interesting Pictures. Especially like the snapshots caught real life, not posed.
Each&every one of these are simply outstandingly stunning!
Loved all of these, but wildlife captured my heart. So much talent x
What is so special about Coney Island pics? They are snapshots saturated in a photo editor.
Sorry, not impressed. Some look like outtakes, NONE tell a story, and the others make no sense.
Photoshop does not do composition, timing and doesn't give you good ideas.
