Harry Potter movies are known for having their fair share of ‘jump’ moments and dark imagery, but American digital artist Dylan Pierpont has taken it up more than a few notches by reimagining the famed films as straight-up horror shows, and he’s calling them Scary Potter.
With a poster for each chapter, Pierpont turns the original Harry Potter’s PG-13 scenery into a ominous, gruesome world inspired directly by some of the more sinister events that transpire throughout the epic saga. It’s all done in tribute, though, as Pierpont is clearly a fan himself, accompanying each portrait with a fitting quote from the book or movie it represents. To be honest, a live-action Scary Potter directed by James Wan or Guillermo Del Toro could be quite the hit!
Check out the spine-chilling ‘dark art’ series for yourself below, and just try not to shudder at the last one!

Share on Facebookmmfmfff those titles,....., actually i'm getting bored of this kind of titles, bored panda,...., (you'll never see anything like this, wins the internet, will ruin your childhood,...,) ufffff, there is no need to exagerate, not anymore, please..... and the covers in this post are very good, very very good
Having reread Harry Potter for the umpteenth time, I'm always looking for a new perspective. These are great!
They're really well done. Having said that, since I read the books in my 30's, my childhood hasn't been ruined. I know it's irrational, but I find that kind of headline (You'll never sleep again! You'll want to buy this house! You'll want to own a hamster! :p ) really annoying. You don't know me, Bored Panda! *shakes fist at internet*
It's not even a little irrational, I think most of us are really sick of those headlines.
Load More Replies...I agree with you on that Gilda. The artistic depiction of the "birth of Voldemort" shown here is eerily close to how I imagined it while reading the books.
Load More Replies...The prisoner from Azkaban remindes me Corvo Attano from Dishonored
Seeing these covers would give people a realistic expectation concerning the concept and storyline. They are far from children's books and having illustrations like this might be appropriate for the books after "The goblet of fire"
Damn man, really cool posters. Also Your concept art on instagram is amazing !!!
It did not ruin my childhood one bit. Harry Potter was always very dark and these artworks depict the stories much better than the original book covers, which were made to look slightly too childish!
Loved it. My fav is the mini Tom Riddle with his horcrux. (half-blood prince)
These are super f*****g scary and cool at the same time. But yeah, they ruined my childhood XD In the coolest way
the title is misleading b******t clickbait and the posters are f***g awesome.
These didn't scare me, but they are brilliant. The attention to detail accurately captured each book/film; the portrayal of the actors, when used, was spot on. The last one, instead of making me shudder, actually made me tear up a bit at some of my favorite deceased characters on the wall. And including Harry in that was an unexpected choice.
I actually didn't realise it said 'scary potter' until I went back and looked at it. Anyone else?
Umm wat. They are awesome but I do not see any way they can be associated with metal? Gloomy does not equal to metal.
Load More Replies...I would like to see something like that. A bit boring are these versions for children but versions for the elderly? I would love to see it on the big screen or as a version of books.
I feel like an idiot because I'm having trouble with the Order of the Phoenix one. I know the Death Eater masks and the pensive but struggling with the rest. Is that Sirius in the pensive? And the orb is the prophesy? I might have to read it again
I fell in love with the Hobbit book in heigh school. I think the Harry Potter movie and books just started out with the cast be to young for me to relate with.
Guess I'm just to old to like Harry Potter, I was a lord of the Rings kid.
Through my own experiences with bookworms, I have determined that there is a pretty even split between the readers who prefer the HP series and the ones who prefer the LR series (with me personally being a fan of HP over LR). Usually when I come across a LR fan, they are from an earlier generation than today's youths. So your preference of LR isn't really that surprising. At least not to me.
Load More Replies...I like the Chamber of Secrets too... :-) And Deathly Hallows - Voldemorts face looks a bit like Azog... :-D
Load More Replies...Goblet of fire cover kind of a major spoiler for those who haven't read, but otherwise everything is awesome!
This actually reminds me more if Harry Potter was more dark like the "Game of Thrones", but these are really amazing artworks, though!
